Mark is a member of Western Chapter International Society of Arboriculture (WCISA) The American Society of Consulting Arborist (ASCA) and a 2007 Graduate of the ASCA Conulting Academy. Mark has received training in advanced tree risk assessment, tree valuations (appraisal), and is a long standing cooperator with the Western Chapter ISA Tree Failure Database/California Tree Failure Program. Mark has received a wildlife aware certificate as one of the first graduates in California. Mark uses pathology lab at times to aid in diagnosis and wood decay labs specializing in DNA identification of tree diseases. Mark is still a license contractor and has represented the tree care industry to the contractors state license board, the state legislature and wrote the language of California Government code 53067 (proper tree prune for public agencies). Mark has presented at seminars, and conferences for the WCISA, ASCA, Street Tree Seminar, University of Arizona, C Master Gardeners and Inland Forest Council.
