I ate here last Monday, August 25th. I order the deep fried red snapper, which was cooked to perfection. The portion was so large, my wife and I were advised by out waiter, Ed, to split it between us. We were so glad he made that recomendation. The fish sauce on rice was delicious, as was the chili jam. For dessert, we ordered bananas in a phyllo pastry, drizzled with honey, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It was decadent !! We also ordered the fried cheesecake, with vanilla ice cream on the side. If you've never had cheesecake made this way, you owe it to yourself to try this, you'll never want to eat it any other way.
After all this, and 4 cocktails, the total was less than $100 for the two of us. I felt like we got a bargain. The interior decorations were so extravagant, we could harly contain our excitement. Authentic, hand carved decor abounded. Bring a camera, or you'll be sorry you didn't get some pictures.
I would definitely say this place is a must-do. I can't wait to come back again. Thanks again Ed, from the couple from Connecticut.

We ate at the Thai Thani in Tampa and had an excellent meal - good quantity of food, excellent quality and the service was attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

-I'm experienced-
A recommendation brought me in Thai Thani recently. A very beautiful place from the inside, but it was just to distract me from the horrible food and service.
I started out with Tom Yum Goong (soup), and the shrimp was obviously past it's expiration date. Next was the Tod Mun Pla (fish cake) which were descent, but the sauce it came with was store bought with crushed peanuts. Not creative, and very disappointing.
Next was the Nam Sod (pork salad) and Yellow curry chicken which showed up so quickly, there was no way it could have been fresh. Quick is great for drive-through service, but I really don't mind waiting when it's supposed to be potentially fresh. Both meats tasted like left overs, and were so heavily sugared down (maybe to hide the rusty flavor of the meat). It almost seemed like I was eating dessert the dishes were so sweet.
Unfortunately the service matched the food, if not worse. I finally approached the waiter to close out the tab.
My advise to the serious consumer would be to skip this restaurant completely, and my advise for the restaurant would be to take a few days off and visit your competition around town or better yet, visit Thailand.

Thai Thani Restaurant and food was chili-hot harmony is the guiding principle behind each great dish. Thai cuisine is essentially a marriage of centuries-old Eastern and Western influences harmoniously combined into something uniquely Thai. Characteristics of Thai food depend on who cooks it, for whom it is cooked, for what occasion, and where it is cooked. Dishes can be refined and adjusted to suit all palates.
