From My Father:
Attending my son's wedding in Shreveport, we visited this location, while I was eating some of the bean and rice from my chimichanga plate, I took a bite into something hard in the beans that broke one of my back teeth, I was told that since no foreign object could be found, they would not pay for my tooth, even though, I showed them the partially broken tooth on the table. (Anyone that makes beans knows if not washed properly there can be little rocks mixed in with bean) Then there happen to be a person from their corporate location there named CHRIS RIMMER and he told us "How Trejo's will take care of the dental bill and no worries and we are a big chain and do not want to lose your business on this little incident" Bunch of BS, Trejo's is not true to their word.
Needless to say this is probably my worst restaurant experience anywhere. Trejos, you guys are really classless and cheap.

Do not attempt having a meal. Halfway through my meal I spotted an artistically placed short black and curly.. When on the phone with manager, "Santiago," he not only refused a refund but stated, "This happens often,ya know." I asked him to repeat that, and he again restated that,"it happens every now and then and it's not the first time." There was also no apology or apologetic tone whatsoever. The overall customer service was apathetic and even neglectful. It took almost 45 just to speak to him. Negative stars.

I took my mother to Trejo's yesterday (Saturday, April 9, 2011) at 2:00 p.m., because we had heard good reviews of it. WRONG!
She's wheelchair-bound, and no one lifted a finger to help me when I struggled to open the doors. The "greeter" simply ignored us the entire time I was trying to push her in and keep the doors open.
When we were seated, the greeter did not move chairs from the table to allow her wheelchair in. I had to do that. We were ignored for a good while, until our drink orders were taken.
SERIOUSLY: the sweet tea was made from water that had been used to boil shrimp. You cannot mistake that flavor. We had to drink shrimp tea! UGH!
My chicken chimichanga was made with canned chicken. That flavor is unmistakable. My mother's beef chimichanga was made from dogfood-grade ground beef... not shredded beef at all. The ground beef was dry and tasted bitter. I tried it. The rice was good. The beans, again, were from a can. The salsa was great, but the chips were greasy and stale.
I complained to one of the servers, asking her if the cook was having an "off" day. Told her that the food was terrible. She asked if we wanted anything else. I said "Hell no!" No discount was given. We paid the full bill, and even left a dollar tip. (Always tip... because someone's gotta clean up the table.)
On the way out, I was going to complain to a lady who looked like a manager, but a waiter opened the doors for us and held them open. Rather than be rude to him, and cause trouble by complaining, we left.
Chef Gordon Ramsey needs to come in to this "Kitchen Nightmare" and fix it.
We were sick with gas, cramps, and bloating for a day and a half afterward. Still sick from it. I sure hope we didn't get food poisoning.
But, rest assured, I will warn EVERYONE I know to avoid Trejo's. How on earth could they have been voted "Best Mexican Restaurant in Shreveport"? Do people like eating dogfood and canned chicken?

Trejo's on Mansfield Rd. is the best Mexican restaurant to eat on the South side of Shreveport. The food is cheap and the atmosphere feels like you are truly in a mexican restaurant. The service is absolutely great!!!You should try it next time you are on the side of town.
