Child Support
(5) Whether you owe unsecured debts, secured installment debts, tax debt, and child support debts can all affect your credit score.
Spousal Support
As mentioned in an earlier video, some debts cannot be discharged in a bankruptcy. Certain types of debts such as child support, alimony, most student loans, some federal income taxes, and all employer withholding taxes cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. The debtor’s wrongful conduct may make some debts nondischargeable. Examples of such debts like incurring credit card charges without the intention or the ability to pay them or to obtain loans using false financial information.

Criminal Defense
There is a criminal law that provides that if anyone files a petition or files a document that makes a false or fraudulent representation, then they may be subject to criminal prosecution and provides for fines and imprisonment, up to five years. As long as you tell the truth to the best of your knowledge and ability, you should not have a problem.
Fraud
Sometimes people will transfer vehicles, personal property, or other things to their relatives, their parents or their friends in the hope they will keep the property until the bankruptcy is over. This is clearly a nondisclosure of assets and is bankruptcy fraud. In addition, any transfers that have been made within a certain time period have to be disclosed on the Schedules.

Social Security Disability
2005: The US Supreme Court upholds the government’s ability to collect defaulted student loans by offsetting Social Security disability and retirement benefits without a statute of limitations. See Lockhart v US (04-881, December 2005).
