Don't Waste Your Time

I filled out an online ap at Grand Prairie Ford and they immediately emailed to let me know that I was approved. They told me I was approved with no money down and that I could pick out any car I wanted, price did not matter. I asked Arvin (one of the managers) if he was sure about my approval, that I was looking an Altima and wanted to put about 1500 down. He said absolutely, I just needed to come in and test drive a few.

When I arrived there today, I was told I was going to work with a different sales person, that Arvin was busy. He then proceeded to go review my credit and then came back to let me know that I needed a co-signer. I tried explaining to him that I was told that I was approved. He said that was an automated approval system and it does not actually look at your credit. Don't waste your time and gas money driving there. They are a crummy dealership and very shady.

My husband purchased a F250 from this dealer less then two months ago (not a cheap vehicle). Just days after taking it home we noticed a leak. We called the dealer and we were told that it was overflow and that this was normal. As a precaution, we were told to keep an eye on it and if it worsened to bring it in after we received our warranty information in the mail. The leak did get worse, we waited for the warranty information and brought the truck in. The leak turned out to be a radiator leak..not overflow and not covered by warranty. The dealership refused to fix the issue as they stated it wasn't their problem and we had waited past the 30 days of original purchase (hope you saw my note above that they are the ones that told us to wait) and then charged us over $1000.00 to fix it.

My husband was out on the street today with a sign telling others to beware!!!!!

THIEVES!!! After an uninsured...

A NIGHTMARE!!!
After an uninsured motorist totaled my mother's car, she bought a used car from them. She explained to them that since my father had cancer and was dealing with the aftermath of strokes, he was unable to work and she was yet to find a job. She was in need of a reliable car that would not need immediate work. She was assured that the car had been through a 110 point inspection.
Within the first 2 days the engine light came on and it hesitated switching gears. She took it back at the first sign of trouble. She was told the gas cap wasn't on correctly. She took it back again in the same week with the same issue and she was told they hooked it up to their computers and it checked out fine. Took it back another time within the first week or so and then was told since it wasn't a Ford they didn't have the right kind of computer to hook it up to in order to diagnose the issue!
She took it to a dealership who sold the same make of car she purchased from them. They hooked it up to their computers. Their conclusion was that it needed a new transmission. By the VIN # they also discovered that they had that same vehicle at one time - BUT THEY DEEMED IT UNSELLABLE AND GOT RID OF IT!!!
During that time she took it to 3 other mechanics - ALL WHO SAID THE CAR SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SOLD! All said it needed a new transmission and that the transmission fluid had not been replaced. She was quoted $4-$5K in repairs.
She went back to them with the information from the mechanics. She thought that certainly with the information she came to them with that they would do the right thing. Though she presented the information in a calm and pleading manner, she was met with hostility and scoffing! NEVER had she EVER been treated in such a belligerent manner!
She went all the way up to the General Manager who ALSO treated her with contempt. She offered him the information from the other mechanics and he pushed it away and said he wasn't a mechanic - he was a numbers-man. He was incredibly disrespectful and told her to blame my brother who was with her when she bought the car. When she mentioned that she took it to the aforementioned dealership, he admitted GP Ford bought it from them! When my mother said they told her they deemed it UNSELLABLE, no excuse was made.
They had only offered to trade it for an even older vehicle with body damage that a mechanic friend said was not a good vehicle. After going to the company that owned GP Ford, they were forced to offer something else. She did NOT trust them to trade her a reliable car. They would not allow her to take the car off the lot to have a mechanic check it out, so she paid a mechanic to come with her to check it out - money she really didn't have to spend. She finally traded it for a car she did not want or would fit her needs, but she just wanted to be done with them.
The whole experience was the worst nightmare she could have imagined!
I'm not usually one to post such things, but I really want to try to protect others from going through the same thing.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!

I have not had a lot of car experience with car dealers, however this was different from what I have seen in the past, I did not intend to buy a car for a month or so, and ended up driving away in the Mustang I have wanted most of my life.
