General Info: Since 2005, Sponge has provided thousands of Seattle-area children and families with a high-quality, award-winning language program. Sponge offers immersion classes in Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Hindi and German at its own centers in Seattle and on the Eastside, and at play centers and schools throughout the greater Seattle area. Focused on children from birth through elementary school, native-speaking teachers instill a love of language and culture through activities, stories, music, art and movement. Research shows numerous benefits from exposing children to a quality language program at an early age: a positive effect on the child’s intellectual growth, more flexibility in thinking, and an easier time learning languages later in life.
