I shopped around at several dealers and looked at every model I could think of before deciding to purchase my 2012 tracker targa 18 from Fred's. I not only wanted the most boat for money but the best service. Recently a recall was placed on my outboard for an alternator clearance issue,When I called and spoke with Brian,he told me that they were aware of the issue and actually made and posted a video to help me to determine wether or not my motor was affected,not only that once we determined a repair was needed He drove 80 miles roundtrip to pick up the boat from me. Now that's service. Hopefully this helps you make your decision on where to purchase or service your boat.

Bought a used boat from Dicks. Was told it was all checked out and everything was good. First trip to the lake the bilge pump was coming on about every 5 minutes pumping a couple gallons of water out, the speedometer doesn't work, the trim gauge doesn't work, and the camping enclosure that it came with only had the back piece to it. I guess they didn't check it very well. After the 3rd trip back to the shop they finally fixed the water leak. Tracy told me that they didn't charge me much to fix it. WHAT? REALLY? Then he showed me the gauges in the catalog that I could order. Again, REALLY? This all should have been taken care of since he told me that it was all good. As far as the camper enclosure, he told me, " sorry, that's all it came with" now I have to go spend $1000 to get that. Never again will I deal with Dicks!

I unfortunetly purchased two boats from another dealer in Riverdale, I won't name them but after my second purchase in 2006 I have never gone back there for anything. I then started going to Fred's Marine. They are the absolute best people to work with, I have dealt with most of there staff over the last 2 years and have zero complaints, everything from service, buying parts, and just talking to them to get some expert advice they have been more than fair. I will continue to do business and suggest to all my friends and family they have Fred and his staff help them out. It's hard to find a honest business these days but Fred has done it, they are top notch. Thank you for all you do.

I've owned a boat for about ten years. Trying to find a boat mechanic you can trust takes a lot of time. I had my boat serviced at freds in may of 2008. The out drive was supposed to be removed & the drive coupler inspected. later in august my drive coupler broke leaving me stranded in a rain storm on the lake, i had recently had Petersen marine in draper do some drive work, So i took it back down to them to have it looked at they informed me that the coupler was indeed broken & told me they thought the upper drive had never been removed & inspected. I then made the phone call to Fred & told him the story, he then called down to Petersens to verify what the problem was. The estimate i got from Petersens was about $ 1800.00 to fix the problem. Fred called me back & said he did some searching for the originl copy of the work order & when he found it he did not believe the upper drive had ever been removed! In short fred offered to to do the job labor free which is 1k. Pure honesty.
