Overall

Intake was short with me, they all acted frazzled. Medical care was sufficient and timely but cold bedside manner by physicians assistant. Had an assembly line feel and they discharged me with out figuring out why I was having breathing problems just eliminated heart attack, infection, blood clot. Will not return there for care in the future.

Overall

I had a very disturbing experience at Johnston Willis Hospital on 7/8/2013. I was seen in the ER at 7am and the staff was amazing. The ER physician suggested I be admitted to the hospital since I was on level 10 for pain. I was given narcotics in the ER because of the extreme pain so I wanted to know why I was experiencing this pain. I was admitted at noon that day and discharged on 7/09/2013 and never was seen by a physician while I was in the hospital. The hospitals physician stopped by my room on 7/09/2013 at 2:30pm and said my MRI was negative and she would discharge me. No physician looked at me or asked what my problem was. On the afternoon of 7/08/2013 a physician, Dr.Menzah told the nurses she had seen me and I was in no pain. She never came to my room and when she was confronted about not seeing me she still did not come to my room. I was told I could not see a doctor until the next day?????? I discharged myself from the hospital and stopped by the Administrative office on the way out. They were very pleasant and convinced me to check myself back in and I would see a doctor. Still, no doctor came to help me and figure out why I was having level 10 pain! He did order me pain meds and an MRI, but never saw me? I was discharged from the hospital with no explanation as to my pain. I could have went to Patient first and saw a physician and they would have ordered me a MRI and pain meds. They would have found a solution for me. It is very disturbing to stay over 24 hours in a hospital and never see a physician, but I am sure I will be charged ALOT with no results. There were more problems during this time at the hospital, but the most important was finding a solution to my pain. That did not happen.

Overall

The ER admissions have the friendliest people! I was treated in the ER on 7/08/2013 and the ER physician, Richard was so nice! The nurses Stephanie and Jamie were amazing!! The experience in the ER was great until I was admitted to the hospital. I should have just stayed in the ER! Great staff!

Competent

With prostate cancer, I have become all to familiar with this facility. With that being said, these people have provide extraordinary service and care for me. I have been there for routine colonoscopies, CT and bone scans, and out patient surgery. The care couldn't be better from the nurses to the doctors to the anestheoligists to the technicians. Are there some who don't seem as nice as I'd like--sure, but I am very confident in the care they give.
