I had horrible pains while walking all down my right leg, which appeared a few months after I had fallen onto a low cement wall climbing out of my spa at my pool. It was so very bad that i had to grit my teeth and force myself to walk.I requested my GP to send me on a course of physical therapy as I either have a bad reaction to pain killers or they just don't work, and I wanted to get to the root of my problem and alleviate it. I did a two month course of therapy at Rimrock, each session followed by a 15 minute TENS treatment ( pulsed low voltage electrical muscle stimulation ). I gave all the therapists a detailed rundown of what had happened and did all the exercises religiously twice a day. We finally found out that one muscle had four knots in it which is part of what caused my pain. The therapist applied strong pressure ( like Rolfing ) on the knots and I kept doing my exercises- which were easy, light and targeted the muscles involved. If I felt that an exercise was not helping or gave an adverse reaction, I told the therapist. A good dialogue is essential to treatment. I am now pain free for a month--it happened just a week before my therapy time was up, and has persisted. Many thanks to the Therapists at Rimrock. They really know their stuff!! Most important is to DO the exercises at home, and talk to the therapist so they know what's going on at all times!!
