Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
For several years I had pain and discomfort every day due to carpal tunnel and arthritis in both of my hands. I was one month out of surgery in my right hand/ thumb area when I met Shari at the Murray therapy center. Right away I could tell she was a seasoned, skilled and highly professional therapist. My surgery was extensive and I was terrified to let anyone touch my hand due to the pain. From the first day I met Shari and her staff, they were professional, extremely well trained, kind, caring and focused on getting me back to 100%. Not only did I learn how to use my hand again but every visit was consistently a great experience. They built a focused plan, specifically for me and encouraged me every step along the way. I had the same surgery consecutively on both hands. After a total of 34 visits I now have the hands of a young man and not those of a 62 year old guy. I will be forever grateful for the incredible results and personal care from the team. Thank you Shari, Kylee, Megan and Duncan for everything. If I had a third hand I would only let this team touch it.

The best PT clinic I've been to...and I've been to at least three others in the SLC area. Steve Crandall makes it clear by his words, actions and the time he takes at intake that he truly cares about his patients. He is extremely knowledgeable and even took my MRI to a group consultation to get other opinions. I had to get used to spending 2 1/2 hours, when other PT sessions are an hour, but it's SO worth the time! There is a combination of modalities that are beneficial and the PTAs that do the manual work are amazing. They take the time needed to address specific needs. The staff is respectful and fun. It's wasn't always easy to get the appointment time I needed with my work schedule, but I learned to make appointments for several weeks in advance and then it wasn't a problem. Many people don't know that pain from scoliosis and herniated discs can be relieved from PT. I have both. When PT with a "regular" clinic didn't help, I went to a back specialist who referred me to Steve Crandall and it's made a huge difference in my daily level of pain and knowing what to do and what NOT to do as I exercise at home. PT with the right therapist can be a game changer!

Sciatica
Todd Schwartz is an outstanding care provider that cured me of two problems; a pinched neck nerve, and sciatica nerve pain in my right leg. Using physical therapy to relieve strained neck muscles, and physical therapy to relieve tense muscles in my leg, followed by "dry needles" and electric stimulation from my spine to my right foot, I feel like a new man. It sounds like the treatment would be difficult and uncomfortable, but Todd and his staff are very gentle and the process turned out to be just what I needed. I no longer have the pinched nerves and dizziness from my neck and head, and my sciatica pain has disappeared. I highly recommend Hand and Orthopedic Physical Specialists and Todd Schwartz, who have improved my life greatly.
Whiplash
I was stopped on I-15 because of an accident ahead and was rear ended by a car traveling 80 miles an hour which caused severe whiplash and damage to my C4/5 and C5/6 disks and damaged the corresponding nerves in my neck. I saw a prominent spine surgeon in SLC and has told that it would be necessary to fuse my neck in order to relieve the pain and numbness. He said if I wanted to see a Physical Therapist, I could, but he was certain it would not help. I was referred to Dr. Crandall who has helped me stay away from the knife and guided me through the recovery process for the last 9 months. He and his staff are very well trained and professional with a large array of techniques and apparatus at their disposal. If you are in need of the services of a PT go and see the facility, you will be impressed. I have had occasion before to employ the services of a PT and Dr. Crandall and his facility are hands down the best.

They may also prescribe the use of our underwater treadmill or other unloading equipment that will help improve your range of motion, strength and gait to help you walk smoothly without pain.

I was introduced to Seth and Lindsey after I had hand surgery on my thumb and index finger. It was one of the hardest surgeries I have had in 4 years. I was excited to get my hand back to where I could use it again, but I knew it would be a hard journey. They were persistent even when I wanted to give up, but kind when I just had enough. I was impressed with their knowledge and experience with getting my hand back to where I needed it to be. I was a tough patient, but I am so greatful for them both. Thank you for giving me my hand back. I would highly recommend this place for therapy of any kind. Thank you again!!

As a lifelong skier and former racer, I’ve had my share of orthopedic injuries. Surgeries have included both knees (one an Oxford implant), both shoulders and spine. Yet after more than 30 years as a professional ski-patroller I’m still at it as strong as ever, due largely to the rehab skills of Mr. Dave Moss. I feel the Physical Therapist’s role in the outcome of orthopedic surgery is as important as the surgeon’s. It’s because of the history of successes working with him that, time and time again, over the decades I’ve returned to Dave. Sure it helps that, he’s a good friend, skis at the level of the pros, has firsthand knowledge of the biomechanics involved and shows the same passion for his work as he does for sports, but it’s the results that really matter. Thanks for your dedication and guidance for all these years.

After years of ignoring the increasing level of pain in my left knee, I decided to have it checked out. And yes, I needed a total knee replacement. My physical therapist, Dave Moss, told me from the start that I would have to attack my rehabilitation therapy after the surgery in order ensure a successful recovery. I followed his advice and worked with him twice a week for several months. Dave made sure that I did not slack off and he would keep me going. Now, 4 years later, I can enjoy bicycle riding, walking and hiking with my dogs, going up and down stairs and all the other things we do in our daily lives that involve our knees. Prior to my surgery I could barely walk 20 feet using a cane before the pain would make me stop. I have normal pain free range of motion now, all thanks to Dave and his diligence in making my rehabilitation a success. I know other people who have been fortunate enough to have Dave as their physical therapist and we all agree he is THE BEST. Thank you.

Tennis Elbow
I have been seeing the fantastic therapist, and professional family here for a year now working with not one, but two different needs. I started working with Val for pelvic floor issues and ended working with Seth for tennis elbow. Although it took time, every minute was well worth it. Ryan and his staff really helped me with my nerve pain and plantar fasciitis in my foot. The technique called a-stim, which creates a low-grade inflammation to promote tissue regeneration, combined with lots of strength and balance exercises made a tremendous difference. Highly recommended!
