Pediatric Care
Clinical training includes a rotation at the Philadelphia Veterans Hospital managing diabetes and glaucoma. She also gained experience in vision therapy, binocular vision, pediatrics and contact lens at the New England Eye Institute and Martha Elliot Health Center, a part of Children’s Hospital of Boston where she earned clinical honors as a part of her rotation. She continued her training at Atlanta Vision Institute caring for pre and post-operative patients undergoing LASIK, PRK and Cataract extraction along with primary eye care.

Your treatment will depend on the cause of your symptoms. Vascular eye disease may require addressing the underlying cause of high blood pressure. Our ophthalmologist may recommend lifestyle changes or eliminating certain habits. Long-term efforts should include coordinating those efforts with your primary care physician. Medications to control blood pressure or lower cholesterol may be prescribed. Laser treatment, injections, and surgery can also be used to address blockages.

Dr. Fudemberg graduated from the St. Louis University School of Medicine with Distinction in research, where he was selected as one of two student members of the Curriculum Coordinating Committee for clinical rotations. He completed his internship at the St. Louis University Group of Hospitals and his residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, serving as co-chief resident and earning the Alan W. Riley Award for Resident of the Year. He served a clinical glaucoma fellowship at the Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
Ophthalmology
Dr. Richards' career as an optometrist includes a wide variety of experience in clinical, academic, and business-related settings. Clinically Dr. Richards works as a primary eye-care provider and deals with emergent eye care needs. Academically, Dr. Richards has been Assistant Professor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she published her research in a co-authored article titled "Comparison of Distance and Near Phorias by Two Clinical Methods" in the Journal for Optometric Vision Development. She also published her poster titled "An Acquired Case of Toxoplasmosis" at the Southern educational Congress of Optometry (SECO) International conference. Dr. Richards' business-related work includes her service as a Regional Quality assurance Representative for Davis Vision, Inc., where she audited ophthalmology and optometric practices to ensure compliance with the company's high standard for the delivery of quality optometric patient care.
Macular Degeneration
A board certified physician, Dr. Paula Ko focuses on retinal problems, particularly diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and macular pucker and macular holes. Dr. Ko received her undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University College of Engineering, graduating with honors. She returned to Ohio State for her medical degree, graduation with honors from the College of Medicine.
Laser Eye Surgery
Laser-assisted in situ epithelial keratomileusis, or LASEK, can be provided at our Wilmington, DE, practice to treat astigmatism, myopia, or hyperopia. It is often recommended to patients who do not qualify for LASIK due to having steep or thin corneas. If you want to reduce or eliminate your need for corrective eyewear, but do not qualify for LASIK or other refractive surgeries, our doctors can determine if LASEK is the right solution for you.

Dr. Minkovitz participated in the early research on Excimer Laser photorefractive surgery (PRK) beginning in 1994. He has offered this procedure to his Wilmington patients since FDA approval in 1996. In 2016, Dr. Minkovitz founded Laser Vision Delaware, LLC, once again raising the bar and bringing a newer, faster and more accurate refractive laser to Delaware, making this technology available to other surgeons as well. In addition to laser vision correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, Dr Minkovitz performs the most advanced cataract surgery, including the newest laser cataract surgery and premium lens implants for astigmatism correction. He is also one of only a few Delaware surgeons trained in corneal transplants, and he thoroughly screens for and treats a variety of eye diseases.
