Provided by DexKnowsI saw Dr. Childers on several occasions. The one time I went without my mother, I found out the kind of man he really was. He told me I was a hypochondriac and it was "all in my head" and I refused to see him ever again. I understand that some kids lie about symptoms for attention, however, I was thoroughly disappointed that he let a serious condition, fibromyalgia, be left untreated because he refused to do anything for me. I finally found a doctor that recognized my pains and put me on cymbalta for my fibromyalgia and it's related symptoms (anxiety). It's too bad that someone like Dr. Childers could have done something for me when I started having my issues at 14. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 17 years old. The last four years have been wonderful - I just wish I didn't have to quit all of my high school sports because this man refused to look into my condition.

Provided by DexKnowsWhat a dissapointment!! I went to the "good doctor" with a six year history of my back ailment, explaining the only reason I was seeing him was because my company recently changed health plans from Presbyterian to BCBS. I now needed a BCBS primary care doctor. He showed no interest in looking at my records or even hearing about my ailment. I agree with the other reviewer, that maybe it's time Dr. Childress retired. If you have any problem that requires him to do even the smallest amount of paperwork, he's not interested. In his own words, "I'm getting too old for this"...exactly what he told me.

Provided by DexKnowsI saw Dr. Childers a few months ago as a new patient. I do NOT recommend him. He was not intrested in anything. . .maybe it is time for him to retire?.

Provided by DexKnowsI was a patient of Dr. Childers for years, but after he changed practices, it was clear he was no longer interested in my health issues and couldn't wait to get rid of me as a patient. It's too bad that I was no longer cared about or listened to. He is a good doctor, but forget about going to him for any "aches and pains", he's not interested, and he'll tell you it's "all in your head" especially if you're a woman.

Don't waste your time and money here. He has very strange ideas and he told me that he has better things to do than to give me the results of laboratory testing.

Provided by DexKnowsI started going to Dr. Childers about 6-years ago. It was the first time that I had gone to a D.O. instead of an M.D. The experience changed my philosophy. The Holistic approach of Dr. Childers and his staff was wonderful. I may never go an M.D. again. They listen to what you have to say, they ask you detailed questions about your symptoms and what you are feeling. And they do not simply "prescribe" pills the way that an M.D. does. The D.O. works for you, not for the pharmaceutical companies.
