Oral Cancer Screening
Over a period of time, your denture or partial denture will need to be relined or remade due to normal wear. Also, as you age, your mouth naturally changes. These changes cause your dentures to loosen, making chewing difficult and irritating your gums. At a minimum, you should see your dentist annually for an examination and cancer screening

Teeth Cleaning
We recommend regular cleanings to remove tartar and plaque which accumulate over time even with good personal hygiene. Dental cleanings play an essential role in the prevention of dental decay and the fight against gum disease. Upon your initial examination, Dr. Simon will evaluate the condition of your gums and recommend an appropriate cleaning schedule, allowing you to avoid preventable future treatment. Porcelain veneers are one of the most esthetic ways to improve a worn or discolored smile. At Advanced Dental Arts, we offer a free cosmetic consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for veneers or if there are appropriate alternatives.
Crowns
Partial dentures are made by attaching the replacement teeth to gum colored spaces that attach to a metal framework. The partial can attach to remaining teeth with a metal clasp or ideally attach to crowns using precision attachments. The precision attachment is nice because it snaps into the crown and makes the partial denture fit even better and eliminates the unsightly clasps. Each case is different so we will assess each person and recommend the best solution for you.
Bridges
We are proud to offer implant-supported dental bridges at our practice for patients who cannot have traditional bridges for lack of natural anchor teeth. The titanium roots of an implant bridge provide freestanding support for the bridge and integrate with the jaw to prevent bone and gum loss for better dental health. Root Canal Treatment
A root canal procedure is a dental procedure used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. The procedure involves removing the nerve and the pulp from the center of the tooth, and then cleaning and sealing it. Located in the Arvada/Westminster area, Advanced Dental Arts provides comprehensive dental care including root canal procedures to patients in the greater Denver metropolitan area.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
There are three categories of cosmetic dentistry, those that add dental material, techniques that remove dental material and those that modify the alignment of teeth or the color of teeth or gums. Cosmetic dentistry techniques that add dental structure include bonding, veneers, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and gum grafts. Cosmetic dentistry techniques that remove dental structure include tooth reshaping (also called enamel shaping or enameloplasty) and gingivectomy (removal of gum tissue.) Teeth whitening can be used to improve color of tooth enamel. Gum depigmentation can clear up dark spots on gums. Teeth that are crooked can be straightened. We have over 25 years of experience. Like any highly technical procedure not all dentures are the same. Dr. Simon has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and has extensive experience working with the edentulous and partially edentulous. In Dr. Simons experience in spite of many discount “in one day” denture clinics promising superior results, he has found there are no shortcuts. Despite the perceived notion that “it’s just a denture” replacing all or many teeth properly is not simple. At Advanced Dental Arts after a thorough examination and consultation, we typically schedule at least 5 appointments prior to delivering your denture. For many patients adapting to a new denture or partial denture takes time, Dr. Simon takes whatever time necessary to see you to ensure your satisfaction.

Dr. Simon has over 25 years of experience providing oral surgery and is capable of handling most extractions in our office. Dr. Simon may determine that you need a tooth extraction for any number of reasons. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed. Others may have advanced periodontal disease or are broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as impacted teeth) or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.
Gum Surgery
If you require surgery to repair the damage done by periodontal disease, it is essential to understand your gum disease treatment options and learn the differences between traditional gum surgery and laser surgery.

Orthodontics
With the wear and tear of time, even normal attached gum can be worn away, generally from vigorous brushing. This often happens in people with naturally thin tissues, or when the tissues have been stretched during orthodontics. If there is still adequate attached gum to act as a barrier to the muscle, the treatment for gum recession is to ensure further damage isn’t done when brushing.

Dr. Pearl Lai is a Colorado native. She attended the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She then went on to practice general dentistry in the Denver Metro area. During this time she discovered her passion for periodontics. She then moved to Minnesota and completed her periodontics residency at the Mayo Clinic. After completing her specialty training she returned home to Colorado to practice periodontics.
