I loved the Enchilada's. Enjoyed the experience but have had better. Very crowded and noisy. Don't expect to be able to have a conversation ...All around the food was pretty tasty. Would eat there again.

Let's see... First off they do not accept cards but they do have an ATM in house so that makes up for it. The margaritas are very POTENT! YUUMMM!Order fajitas or enchiladas. The end. Fajitas, well I've had better but these are delicious & edible :-) The patio seating is marvelous!! Do it! The only drawback about sitting indoors is they will do their best to get you in & out! They are always busy and will need your table ASAP!! Its best you sit outdoors. Nice wonderful staff & if you have a sweet tooth after your meal go across the street to Esperanza's Bakery & Cafe (still part of the Lancarte & Garcia Family). They have the BEST Mexican pastries anyone could wish for. That's what I look forward to every time I visit Joe T. Garcia's. Overall a good restaurant.

nothing special

From FW all my life & I am aware that not loving Joe T's is not legal, but food is just so so & service is less than that especially if it one of the many catered events. They just quit trying & are living on reputation. They are stingy with the servings, ignore simple reqests, & don't even perform basic service functions. Ex: no picking up dirty plates or refill water. Food was "ehh". Good cheese nacos (1only) & guacamole though. Go for the legend not the food or service.

If you do not like Joe T's, you're either dead or a communist zombie or have serious mental instability issues and would complain about free beer and lollipops. Any review less than 6-stars here, should be totally disregarded.

Not all it's cracked up to be

This may be a legend in Fort Worth, but the food and atmosphere are both over-rated. They need to pay more attention to the details. And the prices are very high for what you get.

Don't know what all the Fuss is over on this Dining Place

Maybe their food was good when they opened up decades ago but it sure ain't worth the $$$ now and mexican food is cheap to make, bean and rice and tortillas. I worked in food service for yrs and we made mexican food one of the easiest and least expensive to serve.

Over Rated

Tonight was my 1st Joe T's experience. I've heard great things about it from friends and was utterly disappointed. I realized there is always a long line (40 minutes to get a table at 5 p.m. on a Saturday) and then it's a pain that you can not use a credit card. Of course, you have 2 choices only, so I chose the Chicken Enchilad'as. Two guys brought them to the table, I told them that looks like steak, I ordered chicken. They said no it's chicken, just dark. I bit into it and it was steak like I "tried" to tell them, I gave up and just ate what I didn't order. The waitress was not helpful and it was a wait to get your refills. When we left the line was huge, I will never go back unless it's just to socialize with my friends, the food, lack of selection, lack of credit card, long lines, and inadequate service is enough for my 1st Joe T's experience to probably be my last!

Great atmosphere! Good margaritas but mediocre food. Remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. I suggest trying to sit outside, weather permitting. The patio, lush greenery and pool are beautiful. Their margaritas are famously potent. I suggest purchasing pitchers for the table. Favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. Their dinner menu is extremely limited, patrons have choice of enchiladas or fajitas. Overall, a better spot for happy hour as their dinner menu has limited choices.

a wonderful Ft Worth tradition. Joe T's does have a variety of foods and a menu from which you can select during the day. It is true that during the dinner hour they limit dinner selection to either enchilada dinner or fajitas. The reason for this, I'm sure is the sheer volume. There is almost always a long line and by limiting the menu items they can serve more customers in an evening and limit the wait time. True they are a cash only restaurant, but they have signs posted stating that, and there are ATMs available on prem. We are regular customers and have been for 30 years. We truly enjoy our evenings there and are treated very well by the staff. I highly recommend the Joe T experience

A local favorite of mine

Joe T's has been around almost as long as Fort Worth itself. It's a family owned restraunt that still does things the old fashioned way..they only have a few items on the menu (they are NOT a chain restraunt) they make two items and make the the RIGHT way. Bring your cash because they do not accept credit cards. Back when Joe T's opened there was no such thing as credit cards. Sit outside and enjoy the lovely landscaped grounds with a yummy margarita!!!

Not a good experience our waitress was rude; would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

I don't understand a restaurant that does not take credit cards; but will take a personal check. That does not make any sense to me at all. Also a restaurant that does not a variety of foods to choose. You can only order one of 6 items. I will not return; the food wasn't even that good

A local favorite of mine

Joe T's is a Fort Worth staple, not to be missed. The locals love it! The restaurant has an extensive history dating back for years, no wonder with the great food & awesome margaritas. A family owned business, many celebrities have visited along with former presidents. Cash only & dinner has no menu with two selections, but they are both wonderful. The patio is extensive with thick landscaping & fountains - beautiful!
