Marci Melnick-Butler, NP, first became a nurse as a way to help others when they are in need. Eventually, she began working in critical care and found she enjoyed the unique needs of patients and families. Seeing patients improve is the most exciting part of her job.The biggest influence in Marci’s life has been her mother. She taught her how to be strong yet compassionate and to have a good work ethic.During her free time, Marci volunteers at her children’s school. She’s also fond of water sports, traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.I believe that a collaborative approach with patients, families and a multidisciplinary team helps to provide the best comprehensive care and better patient outcomes. Ensuring that patients and families understand the medical plan of care can help ease anxiety during hospitalization.
