Dr Bruce has been our family doctor since our children were born 27 years ago. He has always taken his time with me on my physicals and answered any questions that I had.

Dr. Bruce takes the time to listen to concerns but is also concise and asks relevant questions to reveal all pertinent information. He makes a patient feel like their opinions matter. The presence of a third party transcribing notes is innocuous but also somewhat disconcerting and brings up privacy issues. Facility is undergoing construction but all staff were polite and efficient.

Dr. Bruce is rated tops in my book, but his nurse was totally unprofessional. After her belittling and badgering me about my prescriptions I finally told her I was getting pissed at her way she was questioning me. She slammed down her laptop cover and said she was done leaving the blood pressure wrap around my arm. She walked out and returned immediately because she forgot the mouse to her laptop, she grabbed the mouse and with the chair on wheels in her way she violently kicked the chair which hit my foot that was under the table. I then said as she was departing “you are totally out of line” she slammed the door like a mad child and I sat there stunned!!! I waited for Dr. Bruce who entered a few minutes later but knew nothing about the actions that just took place by his nurse. He was very concerned after I explained and after he completed his exam he sat with me alone to get more of the story and offered me to talk to the clinic manager. I told him not necessary I’ve reported it to him and I’m good with that. I have been seeing Dr. Bruce probably close to 15 - 20 years and have a great relationship with him. The actions of his nurse should no way reflect on him. In hind sight I know there was something off with his nurse soon as she called me in. She normally is more personable but this time not even a hi or how you doing. She was also covering her mouth with her hand as if to hide something just was a little weird. She directed me to a room and came in still very cold and without pleasantries. I initially had a sense that she was not having a good day but I didn’t want to say anything to make it worse. When I was explaining myself on her questions she became very abrupt says hold on let me type a minute, once again I gathered she was not in a good mood. I explained my prescriptions and the ones that were in her notes I don’t take anymore for reasons of bad reactions. But she became very confusing and said do you have them or not. It escalated from there.

I seen Dr. Hemmersmeier today. As always he is so friendly, has that smile and listens to all my woes. He takes me seriously, and he encourages me. He truly helped me today.

At my latest appointment with Dr. Bruce the facility was very busy and even though he was running behind he did not make me feel rushed. All of my exams have been very thorough and professional with a caring and relaxing atmosphere. All of their staff are friendly, understanding and professional. I was pleasantly surprised and happy that I was able to find another Doctor with these qualities when I moved to Utah.

I am retired military, and have had many different family doctors during my career. Doctor Hemmersmeyer is hands down the best family doctor I have ever had. He is professional, knowledgable, personable, and he truly cares about the health and well being of his clients.

I really appreciate so much the help receptionist gave me in calling for my referrals to other doctors for other procedures.
