Breast Reduction
Women with more severe amounts of sagginess and skin excess can be effectively treated with a Vertical Mastopexy alone or, if needed for optimum breast shape, the addition of an implant. Dr. Hause has incorporated many techniques of breast lifting and reshaping to customize the result to the patient, rather than a one-size-fits- all limited procedure. Because of the amount of skin excess, an Anchor incision is necessary. However, this allows the most profound improvement of breast shape and position on the chest. In certain situations when the breast tissue is mal-positioned to low on the chest, Dr. Hause developed what he calls a Remodel (Reduction) Breast Lift Augmentation. In essence, Dr. Hause removes the breast tissue that is in the wrong place, places the appropriate sized implant in the right place, then molds the remaining breast and skin into the best result.

Rhinoplasty
Breast Reconstruction
Silicone implants have been deemed safe by the FDA for routine use in women at least 22 years of age (or breast reconstruction patients 18 years or older). Silicone gel is the most natural feeling and looking implant filling available and the choice of over 80 percent of patients. Silicone gel implants come pre-filled from the manufacturer and can be placed through similar incisions using the Keller Funnel technique. Also, silicone gel retains its shape better than saline. If a silicone implant leaks or ruptures, it may be totally without symptoms because the implant stays largely intact. Because of this risk, the FDA required implant manufacturers to recommend routine follow-ups with MRI scans at various intervals to detect rupture. MRIs are a potential added future cost that candidates should consider if they elect to follow those reccommendations.

Bariatric Surgery
In certain patients redundancy of skin and subcutaneous tissue extends completely around the body. These are usually patients who have lost a considerable amount of weight, such as following lap band or other types of bariatric surgery, and have laxity of tissue throughout their body. In these patients a full body lift may be appropriate. This is similar to a full abdominoplasty but differs in that the excision of tissue extends completely around the body and results in a circumferential scar. Removal of these lax tissues re-suspends the waist, buttock, lateral thigh and abdominal regions. In those patients who are appropriate candidates the results can be miraculous. However, again the patient has to come to terms with the issue that they are trading their saggy lax tissue for a visible scar. Again, my experience is that the vast majority of patients that need a full body lift are more than happy to make that compromise. Full body lifts require a full two to to three weeks recovery but are uniformly well tolerated.
