        We are the South Sound's home of independent film. Our mission is to enrich the cultural vitality of the South Sound through high quality film art. As a non-profit we are supported by our annual members, a dedicated volunteer force, small staff team, and talented volunteer Board of Directors. We offer admission discounts, free popcorn and other perks to our members. Visit our theater for a unique and cozy cinema experience, and keep an eye out for our community discussions, special film series, and annual events like the Film Awards Party each January, 253 Short Film Party every May, Tacoma Film Camp in July/August, and the Tacoma Film Festival each October.We are the South Sound's home of independent film.         Overall

        First thing about theatre design is sight-lines. Here they are horrible. The sound system is substandard and they "pay" volunteers with movie tickets at rate of about $5.00 for an hour of work.

        All that said, the place is loved and the community doesn't feel abused by the lower than legal standard minimum wages.

        Movie selection has moved from adventurous toward more money-making in recent years. Not so daring or outside the box.

        to watch a movie they have broad selection when it comes to independant and foriegn films it is always very clean there and their popcorn is awesome the seats are uncomfortable but you forget that when you think of how wonderful the place it
