Harold's Brake Service

Horrible Customer Service, bad business practice. My daughter s car was hit by a man who ran a light. State Police had Harolds Brake Service tow car. I tried to get into lot the next day with required tow slip. They said no, until they get paid. Insurance co. was going to pay so I offered a credit card for a deposit until they get paid to get stereo out of car. They said no credit cards accepted. I asked Jack to speak to owner (who I believe was 1 of 2 guys standing behind me). He said no he would not give me owners info. I left, called guys ins. adjuster and he called and told them I would be coming. I show up again. They said I cant take stereo because there is an extra charge. I call adjuster from car lot (located around the block from Harolds) and they call owner, owner calls employee, employee finally lets us take stereo since ins co. agrees to pay for the already paid for stereo. I said, wow, thats some racket you run! Is that even legal? The two employees I dealt with were extremely rude. I did call State procurement office and they contacted State Police because that is who the contract is with. Harold s feels that they did nothing wrong in treatment. My advice: Take your belongings out at the scene of the accident because not all insurance companies will pay extra to let you. When someone is on the way to help you, tell them to bring tools to remove your stereo if its one you bought! Make sure to have cash because Harolds cant afford to pay the cost of using a credit card service. Have thick skin so you can deal with their rudeness. I don t know how they are on brakes, but if its any indication of the service they provide for towing and their lack of customer service.... well you decide what you are willing to put up with.
