The City of Aberdeen Police Department is a state-accredited, progressive law enforcement agency consisting of 30-plus sworn officers and more than a dozen non-sworn staff members. Each officer and staff member is assigned to a various areas of law enforcement. Special areas of assignment include the leading of narcotics detection dogs, bicycle patrol, field training, firearms instruction, motorcycle, investigations, drug task force, clandestine lab team and school resource officer. The Police building is a modern facility constructed in 1988. It contains a fully equipped fitness room, a training room, locker rooms, photo lab, evidence processing room, a forensic video station and armory. The department has a modern networked computer system that is continually updated with current technologies. The department maintains a 50-yard pistol range and 100-yard rifle range. The department is located in Aberdeen, Wash.
