In brief, we are very different from other independent car facilities because we were chosen in 1991 by one of the industries leading OE factory suppliers to represent this level of service. We still to date maintain this relationship with Robert Bosch Corporation, europes largest OE electronic/electrical supplier.We are a small, personal, strong and stable company serving the Greater Asheville Area for 38 years to this date. Some of our customers have chosen us to serve their automotive needs for over 32 years. We've operated for last 27 years with just 3 people. Myself, my loving wife Jeannette, and Clark Bell, our faithful worker since he was 19 years old, now 46. This should speaks volumes about us and our personal touch we give your car.What is now the parts, customer waiting area, office, machining, unit repair / assembly and engine dynamometer room was once the North Asheville Post Office. The 'other side' of our split level building has always been an automotive facility incorporating such rare things as a chassis dynamometer back in the 50's.

I'm from Fort Lauderdale Florida.. I own a c70 Volvo.. I was on vacation I had front end vibration.. I showed up to his shop first thing Monday morning. Even tough he was backed up with auto repairs from the previous week , Larry was kind enough to test drive my car right away. He gave me his honest recommendation and then took it a step further By calling the Volvo dealership in Asheville to verifie that I had a previous owner warranty on my vehicle.. I wish there where more honest mechanics like him.. very knowledgeable and honest ..

My husband & I were traveling through to a new home in NC when my husband's Audi decided it was going to blow it's A/C Compressor. We limped into Asheville, and called Larry from the car for advice. First he did what he could to help us without having to bring the car in. However the damage was far more than we could handle. Larry took us in at 4:45 on a Thursday, gave us suggestions for local entertainment, and overnighted the parts for the repair. We loaded up 3 kids, a dog and a cat and prayed for the best. Friday morning, I called Larry to get an idea of the estimated repair time and he stated he already had things going with a plan to have us on the road by lunch time. Our family is absolutely in debted to his character and grace. He pulled off a difficult, costly repair and got us on the road in such a timely fashion. I would honestly drive the 3+ hours to his shop to have honest work done on any vehicle.

God Bless Larry's for being honest and skilled and fair! Discovering Larry's Performance Werks has saved me money and time. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car, you can't put a price on integrity. Thank you Larry and Jeanette.

I have to take serious issue with the reviewer who has accused Larry of taking advantage of him, Larry has worked on my Volvo for several years and has been able to provide excellent service at a fair price along with added savings value because of his exceptional skills as a trouble shooter with current technology diagnostic tools. All you have to do is to talk with Larry or anyone in the shop and you know immediately these are good people. I see Larry has offered to refund the reviewer's money, kudos to him for that, I've yet to see anyone dishonest make that offer. Larry is a hardworking and honest individual.

Larry is THE best mechanic we'...

Larry is THE best mechanic we've worked with in years. We'd take our Volvo and VW nowhere else. I have a beast of a Volvo station wagon that I repeatedly took to 2 different mechanics and a dealership in order to fix an oil leak...it kept leaking til I found Larry. He fixed it, it's still fixed, and all of my regular maintenance goes through Larry. I have absolute confidence in him as a mechanic and a seriously stand-up businessman. And Jeanette rocks, too!

I give this fellow two stars b...

I give this fellow two stars because at least he does have a shop and mechanical skills. However, I believe that he took advantage of me through repairs that were not necessary when he was not skilled in diagnosing the computer system. A check engine light remained on after fifteen hundred dollars of repairs and this fellow had no clue, although he wouldn't admit. If it wasn't for a recall and taking to dealership, I wouldn't have solved this problem, which was for one tenth of the cost. Also, he recommended service that I later believed to be unnecessary and so don't think that he should be trusted. Alas, it still is buyer beware and sure he was able to purchase that lovely sports car that he always wanted, ugh!

We simply don't allow a car to go out the door with a check engine light on unless the owner says they don't want repair. Bring the invoice(s) or we can look them up with a name if you no longer have them, and we will refund your money, plane and simple. As far as the comment " sure he was able to purchase that lovely sports car that he always wanted, ugh! " , thanks for the slanderous remark. I happen to have built that car over 3 year period. Why not stop hiding behind your computer screen and come get your refund seeing as how we have never been contacted by anyone pertaining to such a problem.
