        I grew up in southeast Louisiana and attended undergraduate school atSoutheastern Louisiana University for three years where I was a member ofthe Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. I then transferred to the University ofHouston where I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985, graduatingMagna Cum Laude. While studying optometry I was recognized as performingin the top 10% of clinicians and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phioptometric honor society. I earned a Doctorate of Optometry in 1987,graduating Summa Cum Laude.
