Dental Examination

Teeth Cleaning
The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dental office every six months for cleanings and check-ups. We understand that you have a busy schedule, so when you are preparing for your initial visit to our office, please anticipate that your appointment can last between 60 and 90 minutes. Dental cleaning appointments typically last 60 minutes.
Fluoride Treatment
The best way to prevent tooth decay and gum disease is to take good care of your teeth and gums at home. This includes brushing your teeth after every meal and before bedtime, flossing at least once each day, and seeing your dental office for professional cleanings and exams regularly. In addition, dental sealants and fluoride have been shown to reduce the risk of cavities.
Dental Sealants
Although sealants are no substitute for brushing and flossing, they can help keep cavities from forming and may even stop early stages of decay from becoming a full-blown cavity.

Resin Composite
By closing off spaces where bacteria can enter, a filling also helps to prevent further decay. Materials used for fillings include composite resin (tooth-colored fillings), gold, porcelain, and an amalgam (an alloy of mercury, silver, copper, tin and sometimes zinc).

Tooth whitening is a simple process. Whitening products contain one of two tooth bleaches (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide). These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which make the color less concentrated and your teeth brighter.
