I purchased a 2007 Grey Ford-150 VIN# 1FTPX14V57FA93546 on 02/26/2016. Soon after leaving the lot I noticed the truck had a rough idle and the window was not rolling down. they changed the spark plugs, timing belt and fix the windows two days later. since the truck was still running rough, i took it to Lithhia Ford on March 30th 2016. the report showed that there was gasoline in the coolant and in the engine among other things. Ford suggested that I should file a vandalism claim with my insurance company. Progressive insurance adjuster called Western Auto, spoke with Curtis. he stated that they knew that the truck had problems prior to selling the truck. I requested that the truck be voluntary repossessed. Western Auto came by my home on April 19th 2016 at 2:40 pm and were bagging on my door, threatening to call the police and were asking for the keys.

Overall

I purchased a 2004 Ford F-250 Powerstroke from Western Auto Sales and have had, since purchase, nothing but problems. The dealership takes no accountability for any of the issues and the only offer was to have me pay their technician parts + labor cost to fix the preexisting conditions.

The most frustrating thing is that I traded in a very reliable truck with solid maintenance and got one that had not been maintained at all. The dealership never bothered to change the oil (which was way overdue) and the fuel filters were beyond disgusting. The truck also had a busted ball joint on the passenger side (huge safety issue). When I took it back to them to have it addressed, I ended up having to pay their tech $150 to have it replaced. I also had to replace the water pump and thermostat was well.

Then came another frustration. One of the big sales pitches was their 1 year warranty they include with their used vehicles. I was very adamant that I wanted to make sure the warranty was included. The salesman was very persistent that it was definitely included. Ok, great. So then I never receive the warranty paperwork so I call back. I then get the information to the warranty company and guess what? It doesn’t cover my truck since its over 150,000 miles!!!! Way to lie just to close your sale, Dustin.

I then take it into Corwin Ford to have their certified tech do an inspection. Comes back as having a warped passenger exhaust manifold and four injectors that are failing. If you’re familiar with diesels, injectors aren’t cheap and neither are labor rates for ASE certified techs ($100/hr). Luckily, I’m mechanically inclined and was able to do it myself. Even so, I’m now into this truck about $4000 in parts alone after having purchased it. Add in the related labor charges if I would have had a shopt do the work and it would have been even worse.

I had also posted a very professionally written review about my experience with them being very careful not to be too negative on their Facebook page only to have them remove it and ban me from making future posts.

Bottom line is this dealership is very shady. They make a great sale pitch and a positive sales experience. But God forbid you have any problems with the vehicle they sold you as they will not stand behind their product once it leaves the lot. They would not even negotiate putting new(er) tires on it. My advice: Stay away from Western Auto Sales.
