X-rays
Exposure to all sources of radiation, including the sun, minerals in the soil, appliances in your home, and dental X-rays — can damage the body’s tissues. Fortunately, the dose of radiation you are exposed to during the taking of X-rays is extremely small.

Resin Composite
Composite Resin: This is made up of a mixture of resin and plastic. It’s color is the same as the teeth which makes it unnoticeable and perfect to use at the front of the teeth. It also isn’t very durable as it can only last for up to 5 years.
Gold Restorations
The best gold restorations are a high-noble alloy, meaning that at least 60% of the crown is made up of gold and other precious metals like platinum, palladium, and silver that are noted for their low-reactivity with human tissue and resistance to corrosion and oxidation.

Root Canal Treatment

Following dental school, Dr. Ashkan continued his dental education and experience in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at East Carolina University, School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC. This residency provided him experience in the most current practices in implant placement and restoration, training in various surgical procedures important in dentistry, including extraction of wisdom teeth, and also training in the latest techniques in performing root canals (endodontics). Dr. Ashkan is also Invisalign certified and he looks forward to offering “clear aligner” orthodontics (or braces without attached wires) to interested patients.
