West River Cafe

Nothing fancy, but always friendly and solidly good. You can't go wrong with their daily specials (and by "can't go wrong," I mean that you will "happily be eating yummy leftovers for the rest of the day.")



I prefer the Greek plates (and seriously good fries), while my preschooler might loudly recommend the choco chip pancakes. With syrup. (Obviously.)

I really like the West River Cafe. They have great breakfast choices and nice strong coffee. Three different eggs benedict choices and several skillets. After my fill of breakfast, I've actually started to sample some of the lunches. The burgers are great, and they will cook them medium. The place is very clean, and the staff is always friendly. Parking is usually pretty easy on either Montrose or Kedzie.
