Excellent service

Jim and his staff were very helpful in towing my truck and replacing the clutch. Work was perfect, the work was done on time. I would recommend Trans Tech as the only place in Colorado Springs to have your transmission work done if you want honest pricing, great service and a warranty call Jim. You will be glad you did after the work is done.

Incredibly fair priced and great to work with. My van had a mystery power drain which was very difficult to diagnose, but they were able to find the culprit and get it resolved. We've used this company to fix things as simple as an air conditioner flush to changing the catalytic converter. They are a phenomenal company that has fixed an array of car problems for us and they did so quickly and with very fair pricing.

They wrecked my car!

Zero Stars.Trans Tech Auto had my car for over one month for transmission repair. After it was FINALLY ready, I was told that they had broke a headlight and that my battery no longer held a charge. Turns out, they actually wrecked my car while it was in their possession.Upon inspecting my car, I found that not only did they break the headlight, but there was also a lot of body/paint damage in the same area. The new headlight could not be installed properly because of the damage to the body. Jim, the owner, signed a contract to fix the damage and install the headlight properly. Upon receiving my car the second time, I immediately noticed that the headlight was exactly the same as before. There was additional damage to the hood this time. He said he went the "extra mile" for me. The above video shows the car just hours after receiving it, the first time the lights could be tested in the dark. At this point, Jim refuses to deal with me or my insurance company. He is also in violation of the Colorado Motor Vehicle Act. Please do not take your vehicle here.

Responding to Disappointed on review 08/2010

The vehicle described is a Saturn with a manual shift transmission. The original problem was worn shifter cables. The customer was charged only once to replace the cables. The new cables purchased two different times from the Saturn dealer only lasted a very short time. It was then, that the Saturn dealer admitted that there was a batch of defective shifter cables, and replaced the cables at no charge. The customer was not charged for the two additional repairs at any time. Between the original repair and the first repeated failure, the vehicle was sold. Trans Tech honored the warranty of the original repairs to the new owner on both occurrances.

Disappointing. Very unprofessional!

The gear shift linkage (cable between stick shift handle and the transmission) was replaced three times in my car. The first replacement was related to the age of my car (110K miles). The next two times it broke, it turns out the problem was a defective batch of the part from Trans Tech's supplier. The office manager was very resistant and aggressive--accusing misuse as the cause of recurrent malfunction! Their attitude was not one of customer satisfaction, but one of redirecting blame and refusing the responsiblity.

Great work and customer service

Our car was leaking transmission fluid. We received a referral to TransTech from #1 Garage (another great business) to work on the transmission. TransTech listened to what I was telling them and used this information to identify and isolate the problem. TransTech did an excellent job in fixing the leak and problems with the transmission. A related transmission leak started a month to month and half later. We returned our car to TransTech and they honored the guarantee without argument and were more than accommodating. The recommendation was to replace the car's transmission. We have had to save up the money for the work, but have happily taken our car to TransTech for the work. They are hard-working and honest business people. I would highly recommend TransTech for any of your car care needs. Also, my parents were visiting from PA and had some car troubles. TransTech did an awesome job on the repairs and completely back-up their work with honorable guarantees.
