His surgery and residency training was accomplished at these institutions; Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Parkland Memorial Hospital, John Peter Smith Hospital, Children's Medical Center, and Affiliated University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Hospitals providing his surgical and specialty training. In addition, Dr. Gilmore served as a medical officer in the United States Air Force.
