Dr. Paul Sietmann received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa and earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. He is a Board Licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist by the Texas Optometry Board. He earned his postgraduate certification in Ocular Therapy from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and he is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease by the International Association of the Board of Examiners in Optometry.

Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is the leading cause of severe vision loss in people over the age of 60. This occurs when the center portion of the retina, the macula deteriorates leaving distortion and loss of central vision.
Laser Eye Surgery
Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK. In fact, most patients over 40 are surprised to find out that LASIK is designed to only correct your distance or your far-away vision. There are other alternatives for you if you are over 40 and you are to the point that you cannot see your phone without a pair of reading glasses or bifocals.
Cataracts
Everyone gets cataracts at some point in their lives, because it is a natural part of aging. In the United States, approximately 22 million people over the age of 40 experience cataracts. Left untreated, cataracts can rob you of your independence and limit your quality of life. It’s important to get checked for cataracts because it is the leading cause of blindness among adults.
Cataract Surgery
Traditional, manual cataract removal a routine surgery with high success rates, but our Chief Surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Whitman, prefers laser cataract surgery, because he believes it provides better precision and greater safety.
Eye Exam
Our staff is here to help make the insurance process easier for you. Our clinic and surgery center accept assignment with Medicare and both participate with most commercial insurance plans and Medicare advantage plans in the area. When you call us to schedule your initial exam, give our staff member your insurance information. Someone from our business office can then call to check your benefits and coverage, including whether or not your eye exam will be covered. When you arrive at Key-Whitman Eye Center, make sure to bring your insurance cards with you so we may be able to file for your visit on your behalf. If you are an HMO participant, please be advised that a referral will be required.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Larry Fish, a Texas native, earned his degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech University where he was on the Presidentâ€™s and Deanâ€™s list each semester. He was also awarded â€œHighest Ranking Graduateâ€ of the College of Arts and Sciences in 1995. He continued his education at Texas Tech School of Medicine, earning his Medical Degree in 1999 and completed his Internship in Internal Medicine and his Residency in Ophthalmology in 2003. He comes to Key-Whitman after 12 years of private practice in Midland, Texas.

Neurology
Dr. Friedman is a board certified Neurologist, Neuro-Ophthalmologist and Headache Medicine specialist. She is a national leader in her fields and one of only a few physicians in the country with expertise in both subspecialties. She earned her Bachelor of Engineering Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and her Doctor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Friedman completed her Internship in Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, her Residency in Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and her Fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California. She has a Master of Public Health from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
Multiple Sclerosis
In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys both jogging and cycling, and has participated each year in the Bike MS 150 Ride across Dallas to benefit multiple sclerosis. She is newly married and is looking forward to starting a family.

She is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and board certified in Headache Medicine by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, the American Neurological Association, and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS), and is a past President of NANOS. She is the Program Co-Chair for the American Headache Society's Annual Scottsdale Headache Symposium and the Treasurer of the Southern Headache Society.

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to serious eye disease. About one in four people who have diabetes suffer from some form of diabetic retinopathy. The effects of diabetic retinopathy can lead to permanent loss of vision, so it is important that diabetics control their diet and follow the recommendations by their doctors including seeing the eye doctor as recommended.

It is critical that you review the New Patient Checklist and complete the New Patient Packet (and Headache Medicine New Patient Questionnaire, if applicable) linked below before your appointment. You will need to have your referring physician send all clinical referral notes including any Visual Field testing and OCT results (if performed) by fax to 214-754-5903. MRI and/or CT scans must be saved on CD and it is your responsibility to have them mailed to our office at 11442 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75243 or bring them with you to your appointment. Please print and complete the forms linked below and bring them to your appointment. If you are unable to download or print your forms, please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete them.

Naja Chisty D.O. is a native Texan, born in the Dallas area and raised in Plano. Dr. Chisty is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis. She earned her D.O. from Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado. Dr. Chisty did both her internship in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology residency at Larkin Hospital in South Miami, FL and served as chief resident. She continued her training with a one year fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Missouri.
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Pfeiffer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Ophthalmology Association and the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.

Injections like Botox and other dermal fillers should only be given by qualified medical professionals. These are injected directly into facial muscles to reduce lines and wrinkles or increase the volume lost by aging.

At Key-Whitman Eye Center, we are pleased to offer a cosmetic center for our patients. We have a full-time oculoplastic surgeon in Dallas, Plano, Rockwall, and North Arlington to provide treatments and surgery to help improve your appearance. We perform upper and lower eyelid surgery, brow lifts, cosmetic lasers, and cosmetic injections to reduce lines and wrinkles and leave you with a more rested and youthful look.
Plastic Surgery
Dr. Pfeiffer is not only experienced in all areas of General Ophthalmology, but also has advanced training in eyelid, orbit, tear duct system and facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at the University Of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she was honored as the most outstanding student in her specialty. She was also voted â€œOutstanding Residentâ€ by her fellow residents at the Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She then completed a special two-year fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the Eyestetica and USC Roski Eye Institute at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California.
