        Dr. John A. Standefer has 34 years of experience and has successfully performed more than 10,000 facial cosmetic surgeries. As the Medical Director at Fresh Image Cosmetic Surgery Center, Dr. Standefer focuses on providing patients with natural-looking results and remarkable care throughout their entire experience. Dr. Standefer was born and raised in Hillsboro, Texas. He received his B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1974 and his MD degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1978. After completing his internship and residency at Bexar County Hospital, Dr. Standefer opened his practice in Duncanville in 1983 with a specialty in Otorhinolaryngology (Head & Neck Surgery). In 1998, Dr. Standefer became passionate about helping patients look and feel their best, so he completed a second specialty in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He served as Chief of Surgery for Charlton Methodist Hospital from 1996 to 1999 and as Medical Director of Premier Surgery of Duncanville from 1988-1996. Dr. Standefer has also held various positions at Methodist Medical Center Dallas and Columbia Medical Hospital. As one of best facial and neck cosmetic surgeons in Dallas, Dr. Standefer has written and presented numerous papers on head and neck surgery as well as facial cosmetic surgery and keeps current in both areas through continuing education courses provided by the medical societies. He has been chosen as a RealSelf Top Doctor for the past several years. In his spare time, Dr. Standefer enjoys photography, traveling, spending time with his family and watching Texas A&M sports.         A Most Awesome Experience X 2!!

        Dr. Standefer performed my face lift procedure 3 years ago and I was so thrilled with the results that I returned to have him perform my brow lift and eyelid procedures as well.

        I was more than satisfied with both. What sold me on Dr. Standefer after interviewing 3 other plastic surgeons was that his hobby was photography so I knew his eye was fine tuned and that he was an artist. I felt that important. Additionally, he was completely qualified medically, having performed over 10,000 facial surgeries.

        His bedside manner is so comfortable and informative, answering all my questions with patience. I never felt hurried.
        Another BIG plus was that I didn't need to be put under for my surgery, so recovery was very quick.
        I highly recommend Dr. Standefer for any facial surgery!

        Could not be any happier with my whole experience with Fresh Image. I had an excellent experience from my first initial consultation and all the way up to the post op. Would definitely
        recommend Dr. Standefer to all my friends and family. And if you want Botox, Pat is the girl for you!

        Neck Lift - easy, comfortable process

        I was so surprised of how little pain I experienced the days following surgery. Recovery was easy and I was at work on Monday - wore a cute scarf around my neck but no one had a clue. I was thrilled to be able to do oral sedation and had no recollection of the surgery. One last thing...I was impressed that Dr. Standefer never tried to over sell me on additional procedures. I did inquire about a lower face lift and he gave me the pros and cons of doing both or just doing the neck lift and ultimately agreed I could wait on the additional procedure. I really appreciated that! I love my results...even better than I imagined it would turn out.
