Dental Examination
Clear aligners are available for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth. To find out if clear aligners are right for you, please schedule a consultation. Our doctor will provide you with a comprehensive oral exam to confirm candidacy for clear aligners.
X-rays
We recommend taking X-rays around the age of two or three. The first set consists of simple pictures of the front upper and lower teeth, which familiarizes your child with the process. Once the baby teeth in back are touching one another, then regular (at least yearly) X-rays are recommended. Permanent teeth start coming in around age six, and X-rays help us make sure your child’s teeth and jaw are healthy and properly aligned. If your child is at a high risk of dental problems, we may suggest having X-rays taken at an earlier age.

Teeth Cleaning
The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
Fluoride Treatment
Your child should visit the dentist every six months for regular dental cleanings and checkups. We recommend fluoride treatments twice a year along with cleanings to keep teeth their strongest. Tooth sealants are also recommended because they “seal” the deep grooves in your child’s teeth, preventing decay from forming in these hard-to-reach areas. Sealants last for several years, but will be monitored at your child's regular checkups.
Dental Sealants
Ask your dentist about dental sealants, protective plastic coatings that can be applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth where decay often starts.

Resin Composite
Newer dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are usually used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important, but they can also be used on the back teeth depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.

Root Canal Treatment
Chandler was born and raised in Poetry, Texas, near Terrell, and currently resides in Rowlett. Chandler knew from the time she was in high school that she wanted a career in dentistry. Chandler's passion is getting to know her patients on a more personal level while educating her patients regarding their oral health needs. Chandler attended Careers in Dental Assisting school and became a Registered Dental Assistant performing four-handed instrument transfer, taking X-rays, and learning the use of materials and instruments used in endodontics, restorative, crown and bridge, and surgery. After almost two years as a dental assistant, Chandler decided to pursue her degree in dental hygiene. Chandler obtained her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Concorde Career College where she was the Salutatorian of her class. Chandler has her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Texas and is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. Chandler is also certified by the State of Texas to monitor the administration of nitrous oxide conscious sedation. Chandler enjoys continuing education courses to further her knowledge of dentistry and to stay up-to-date on new dental protocols and techniques. In her spare time, Chandler enjoys staying physically active either at the gym, outdoors, or through dancing, as well as spending time with her family and her precious puppy, Stella.

On August 5, 2009, Dr. Bill opened his state-of-the-art dental practice in Casa Linda Plaza located in East Dallas (near White Rock Lake) and named the dental practice, Whitley Family Dental. Dr. Bill’s dental practice incorporates the basic principles of oral health care with recent technological advances to provide general and cosmetic dentistry.

Donna was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas and currently resides in Dallas. After graduation from high school, Donna originally wanted to pursue a degree in elementary education, but she quickly realized that a career in general dentistry would allow her to interact with people of all ages. Donna’s passion is building relationships with patients and making them feel comfortable while receiving dental treatment. Donna’s uncanny memory of life details allows her to talk to the patients during treatment so they forget they are even having dental treatment. Donna received her dental assisting certificate from the El Centro Dental Assisting Program and became a Registered Dental Assistant performing four-handed instrument transfer, taking X-rays, and learning the use of materials and instruments used in endodontics, restorative, crown/bridge, and surgery. After she obtained her assisting certificate, Donna joined the practice of Dr. Tom W. Watson where she met Dr. Bill who was an associate dentist at that time. Dr. Bill and Donna worked together for 13 years prior to Dr. Bill opening Whitley Family Dental. After Dr. Tom passed away, Donna joined Whitley Family Dental, bringing with her 30 years of dental assisting experience. Donna is a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of Texas and is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. In her free time, Donna enjoys crafting and watching football, but her greatest joy is spending time with her husband of 20 years, Donnie, her 4 children, and her 9 grandchildren.
