Overall
Scary Pharmacy Experience

I am a loyal Target shopper and thought I would try my luck with the pharmacy, but the experience was very scary. I had made a trip to my eye doctor for redness, irritation, and a bump on my eye. He gave me some eye drops and prescribed a Bacitracin Oph ointment for my eye. I stopped by the pharmacy at this particular store and wanted to drop off my prescription to do some shopping. I handed the girl at the counter the actual prescription and told her I was new. She asked me to fill out the form and handed the prescription to the Pharmacist, who then said that it was an over the counter medicene. She took me to the aisle with other ointments and found me some Bacitracin. I mentioned it was for my eyes, and asked why he would have written a prescription if it was an OTC medicene. She replied back that a lot of doctors do that. I was satisfied, made my purchase and headed home. That night when I went to bed I put the Bacitracin in my eye as the doctor instructed and it began to burn. I figured it was medicene maybe it was supposed to do that. I then read the ointment directions and it said DO NOT USE IN EYES.

The next day I called my eye doctor and asked about the prescription and was told that the Bacitracin he prescribed was for eyes only; it is followed by OPH, just like what he wrote. I proceeded to call the Target Pharmacy and explain the situation. I asked if they had what I needed and they said no. I then asked about returning the open container without the box and they said it was fine. I hung up and then called back to make a formal complaint, if they do this with an oinment what else are they doing.

My experience since then has been acceptable, a formal incident report has been filled out and I should receive some follow up in 24 hours. The follow up isn't enough to bring me back to their Pharmacy!!!!
