Mark Jacobson Toyota

4516 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd

Durham, NC 27707-2511

Consumer's Original Complaint :

They sold me a Prius 2 telling me it was a Prius 3. They also falsely advertise complete satisfaction guaranteed.

On 6-25-2011 I was sold a 2011 Toyota Prius that was advertised to be a Prius 3 for $29714.40 A few days later I discovered it to only be a Prius 2 even though they even stated Prius III on the title documentation. I have a web printout of a Google search of the VIN that shows them selling it as a Prius 3. While not denying their false advertising they only offered to roll back the deal. That was unacceptable to us because of the time and effort in securing financing and that there were no other low mileage Prius models available.

Also Mark Jacobson Toyota is engaging in blatant false advertising by advertising "complete satisfaction guaranteed". That is a blatant lie and is textbook false advertising. They also did not honor their website offer for our trade in.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:

The honest and honorable thing for them to do is simply refund me the difference between the base price of a Prius 2 and the base price of a Prius 3 since I was told I was buying a Prius 3 and they had been publicly advertising the car as a Prius 3.

Mechanics are a joke + they review themselves!!!

Because Mark Jacobson obviously is trying to skew the results (seven excellent reviews in one week? Come on!), I'm adding 7 negative reviews to negate their reviews. How underhanded can you get?

Mechanics are a joke!!!

They must think people are idiots. Look at the dates of the other reviews. It's so obvious someone from Mark Jacobson wrote those reviews. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. Read on...

=========================================

This place deserves less than one star.

My wife's car had a problem with the car not starting intermittently. Dropped her car off on a Monday. They couldn't duplicate, so we went to pick up the car Tue. Wouldn't start. Left car there. They "diagnosed" it and said the problem was with the distributor. Had to order part. Two days and $800 later, they call to tell us the problem has been resolved. Went to pick the car up and it wouldn't start. This was after I was told one of the best mechanics looked at it (and another 25 yr. veteran was brought in as well). We left it there one more day (because we didn't want to have to pay to have it towed somewhere else). After no resolution the next day, we went to get the car and (luckily) it started. We immediately drove it over to Auto Logic in Carrboro. They diagnosed the problem and had it fixed the VERY NEXT DAY!!! for about $250 (turned out to be a crankshaft position sensor). DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP FOR REPAIR. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!! Go somewhere else (we highly recommend Auto Logic. It's a small, family owned shop and they've always been honest with us. We have no affiliation with them. Just direct experience).
