Broward Sheriff's Office is a full-service public safety agency that is one of the largest nationally accredited sheriff's departments in the United State. The office provides law enforcement and fire rescue services for several areas throughout Broward County in Florida. It provides law enforcement services for nearly 15 municipalities. Broward Sheriff's Office also serves Broward's unincorporated areas, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Broward County Courthouse. The office s department of fire rescue operates over five battalions in more than 15 locations throughout the county. Its department of law enforcement administers various special units, such as the School Resource Deputy Unit and the Child Protective Investigations Section. Broward Sheriff's Office employs more than 6,300 certified deputies and fire rescue professionals.
