Since 1988, when she was admitted to the California State Bar, Annette T. Smurr has been representing clients at every stage of their criminal proceedings, including arraignments, preliminary hearings, recalling bench warrants, various motions, trial confirmations, and court and jury trials. She has successfully conducted cross-examination of prosecution witnesses and persuasively made closing arguments in the process of defending her clients. She has successfully argued for and won honor release and bail reductions and referred hundreds of clients to alternative sentencing programs for alcohol, drug, and mental rehabilitation.
