Overall

On January 23rd, while searching for a car, I found and ad on line from Ron Carter, advertising a 2015 Sonata Sport 2.4L for $14,875. I noted that one of the rebates I did not qualify for. According to the ad, the most the car should have cost was $18,875, based on the most basic rebate. As this seemed too low to be true I called the dealership at around 6:30 pm. A woman named Veronica told me I could be qualified for all the rebates. I called back to verify that she meant that the price on the internet was the price I would pay and she verified that. I arrived Saturday at 2:00 pm. The salesperson, Mike Chapa, informed me that they were out of Sonata Sports and asked if I would be interested in an SE (a lower model). He found an SE with the one package I wanted. Due to my research, I knew that this package would bring the price even with the Sports, or within a few hundred dollars. I reiterated his promise to honor the price. He came back with an offer of 26,000+, based on such features as key replacement ($313), pin stripping ($400?), insurance on the paint of the pin stripping ($800), and prepaid maintenance ($399). As this offer represented a culture of dishonest and a repeated series of lies to get me to come in, I left immediately.

What an awesome experience!

With a credit score of 505 I thought it would be impossible for me to get into a new car. Ralph made it happen. He got me into a new car with payments I could afford. The finance team went head to head with the banks and negotiated a price I could live with. Ralph was up front with me and kept me informed the whole way. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and quick to offer a smile when ever they walked by.

I would recommend this dealership and definitely my sales guy Ralph.

Thanks Ralph and everyone involved in making my deal happen!

Overall

I went dealership Saturday from Austin, and I was extremely disappointed in the dealership's service (and frankly, funny math). After emailing Daniel Schatte last week about a Genesis Coupe that was advertised online for $21,824 (see link below), he and the sales manager refused to honor that price. That is a deceptive trade practice and fraudulent.

http://www.roncarterhyun…

The numbers Daniel showed me Saturday just didn't add up.

Before I left Austin, I emailed Daniel and told him what I wanted on a trade-in, and I emailed him pictures of the Toyota Highlander I own. I also told him that if I wasn't in the ballpark on trade-in, I wouldn't be coming to Houston. He and Ryan both saw the pictures of the Toyota, which does have a dent in the back bumper, but this was disclosed prior to Ryan sending me a trade-in quote of $9,778.

Again, Daniel and the sales manager refused to honor the quote, and it was in writing. Daniel also didn't offer the tax savings from the trade-in.

It's very simple math. I told Daniel I would write a check for $13,000, and he told me that I needed to write a check for $21,000. I don't know how he came up with his numbers. They don't make sense. See my calculations below.

Internet price 21,824.00

Trade-in -9,778.00

Tax 752.88

Title & License 555.00

Total amount due 13,353.88

I am forwarding my complaint to the consumer affairs division of the Texas Attorney General's office because I am confident this dealership is engaged in deceptive trade practices. The numbers speak for themselves (as does their advertisement).

This dealership truly epitomizes why car salesmen have bad reputations.

My husband and I purchased a 2...

My husband and I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata last week, and the salesman that worked with us was Tasos. I did fill out a courtesy statement after the purchase, but I wanted to go into more detail with you…..about Tasos Karamitsos and about Joe Spurlock, who helped us in finance.

My husband and I are in our mid-sixties, so we have purchased our share of automobiles over the years….new and used. I would have to say that the experience we had last week was, by far, the best we have ever had when making a purchase. From the first sentence out of Tasos’ mouth to the final good-bye when we departed at 9:45PM, there was nothing but positivity. At absolutely NO point was there even one second of pressure….he pointed out all of the selling points of the Sonata, and was very respectful of the fact that we were loyal Honda Accord people….not ever putting down the Honda. Since I will be the primary driver of the Sonata, I was very skeptical that it would be a better car than my Honda. Again, Tasos left that judgment up to me. When we finally made the decision to purchase, he handled the ever-so-slight haggle with such perfection!

With the agreed purchase price in hand we headed to see Joe Spurlock. Having only ever had bad experiences with finance departments, we braced ourselves for PRESSURE….”buy this….you need this….you HAVE to have this”….. OMG!! Not a single word of pressure…NOTHING! He printed up all the paperwork, chatted with us and was very friendly! Now, I know that Hyundai has the BEST warranty around….but I was sure we would be pressured for something additional that would add $10 - $25 to our note. Were we in for a surprise!

These are the nicest two men we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They both stayed way past their closing time…..never once looking at their watch or giving any indication that we were keeping them! AMAZING! Tasos then began the walk-around and the explanation of every bell and whistle the Sonata has….inside and out. He took his time and was genuinely concerned that we understood and had no questions. He also gave us his card w/his cell for us to call if and when we needed ANYTHING explained.

I will strongly recommend your dealership to any and all friends and relatives….in order that they can experience the same thing we did. Ron Carter Hyundai is very fortunate to have these two men on board with your company!
