Commodore on the Beach

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My room had a lovely view of the water and it's easy to get from the hotel to the seawall across the street. The room was clean with a nice sitting area and desk inside. Two chairs were on the balcony, which made for a nice after dinner relaxation spot. Close to nearby food for a late evening bite. I am looking forward to coming here again!

Staff is really friendly and ready to help. I like that they provide cookies and drinks to late at night. TV worked and beds were comfy. It takes time to walk places but with the view you want even notice. Would stay here again

It is in a great location, close to great restaurants and near the Pleasure Pier

Perfect temp in the room at all times. Staff came every morning and cleaned room, changed sheets on bed, etc. They were very nice and friendly. Had a gorgeous view as we were on the 4th floor. Elevator was not slow at all!!! Had tag you stuck in the key hole that showed "Sleeping...Do not Disturb", turn it over and "Out and About". Free WIFI and it was extremely fast. Perfectly located on the Seawall Blvd and places to see, close to Restaurants, walking distance as well. Ate at The Gumbo Diner next door to Hotel and it was very good food and friendly staff. Little confused from other reviews on here, as we found it quite charming, clean and Staff could not have been nicer. I am sure the Hotel has been thru a few Hurricanes and with the Salt Water spraying on it each day there is no way to keep it as some quoted!!!! I would "absolutely recommend" staying here and we will stay here again when we go back.

I have visited Galveston many times with Grandchildren who are now adults and always stayed at the Commodore because its close to the beach and convenient to restaurants and entertainment.This trip was with greatgrandkids ages 3&4. The room was clean and comfortable for 4 of us. We had plenty of towels, clean linens, and excellent service. The front desk personnel was extremely friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The kids loved the cookies and juice after swimming in the evening. The elevator is slow and a little dirty and hot but just a minor inconvenience. The beach being so close is a major plus and the cost is very reasonable. The small breakfast was not important because the restaurant next door is conveniently close by. I do wish there was a small micro for warming leftovers but not a issue.I will only stay at the Commodore when in Galveston as I always have for many years because there has never been a reason to go elsewhere. Enjoyed our visit.

We were not only looking for a nice place to spend the night before a cruise out of Galveston, but we wanted to leave our car for the seven days we would be gone. Putting it in the parking garage or lot near the cruise terminal would add another 70 to 100 dollars to the cost of the cruise. The people at Commodore allowed us to leave our car at the motel without charge. We really appreciated that.

The real draw for us who have been here two times in 4 years was being close to the beach and hearing the surf at night. Off season pricing has been good. Pool was great and the right temp for early July. There is a small sitting area where you can get coffee, cereal, and a pastry. We used the stairs as a method of exercise rather than the one elevator.

We choose this hotel for the ocean views and were not disappointed. The rooms are very outdated and some repairs are needed but overall it was clean and the staff was friendly.

Quick reservation and organization once we checked in. When I couldn't figure out something, hotel staff rushed to help me and they were friendly. Room was very comfy with a beautiful view.

Great experience, super friendly staff. Great location, walking distance to nicks restaurant which was awesome and next store on the other was a great breakfast place. Every room has an ocean view. It's very charming.

We stayed here in mid July. We had a pool view room and were able to walk directly out of our door to the pool. Each room had its own patio with chairs or balcony room with chairs. The view was really nice. They were completely booked but it never felt crowded. Hotel is on corner at red light so it made crossing to the beach very convenient. Everything was really clean. And the breakfast from restaurant next door was really good. Would definitely stay there again!!

We stayed five nights and had no problems at all. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable with all things Galveston, and the bed so incredibly comfortable. Our view of the Ocean was amazing and with the patio, allowed us to have morning coffee and evening cocktails Like never before. Located among several tasty restaurants with late night hours, great parking and an amazing swimming pool, you guessed it, we'll be back.

I have been staying here since I was a little girl and I still love it just as much. If you are looking for big and fancy don't look here. If you want a Mom and Pop type place then you wont be disappointed
