I also would give zero stars if we could. Our builder uses Starn Air with their new builds. Our unit is less than three years old and coils were already breaking. It took almost 6 months for them to come and replace the coil after no showing twice. Now our heater is not working two months after our new coils replaced and Come to find out when they replaced coil they bent a valve leaking all refrigerant out of our home. Due to the terrible customer service we went with a reputable company and when I called to tell Starn air of the issue of course they said not their fault and now we are stuck with the expenses.

I'm leaving one star because you can't rate zero! Very, very disappointed with the service from this company. Within my warranty period, they needed to service my AC 5 times. I expressed my concern about carrying the same problem after warranty expiration, but they said that everything would be just fine and they would take care if something similar happens in the future.

So, my warranty expired 2 months ago, first time using the heater this season and the unit has the same problem again: not heating!

I called to see if they honor what they promised and both managers were very rude with only one answer: Either you pay $120 dollars or you won't have any service.

Not using this company ever again and I hope whoever reads this review won't use them either.

Not good at all! I see there is only one good rating on here for Starn Air. I bought a new Onyx home in Oct 2011, and Starn Air installed the unit. I guess they had the lowest bid. In Feb 2012, heater stop working. I sent service request to builder and they called Starn Air. They did something and it was working. However, a year later, in 2013 and 2014, same thing happened. They replaced unit in 2014. In the summer of 2015, air stopped working. They came out and said leak in coil that looks like happened at installation. Said not their fault or their responsibility, and I needed to pay $110 for service call and $725 to have repaired. I told them to add freeon and send estimate for repair. They never did. I am having same problem this summer. I called Onyx and Starn Air, with no response. Filing complaint with BBB and with local consumer justice. Unit is not 5 years old and should not bd having all these problems. They do not stand behind their work at all. Please don't use them!

I have used Starn-Air for years. They always do a great job, are fair, and always on time. I recommend you try them. I am very please with their work.

I had the worst experience with Starn Air. My AC unit wasn't cooling and i called for Starn Air because they had installed a new coil for my AC unit less than a year ago. They told me that they would arrive at 9:30am and they didn't show up till 12:30pm. Once they arrived they told me that the new coil that they ordered was the wrong part and that Ken would be calling me. Ken never called. When I called them back they gave me every excuse as said the manufacture sent the wrong part which i know was not true. After several days they finally came back and replaced the coil with the right part but then they told me that my compressor wasn't working and that i would need a whole new unit. They also told me that there was nothing they could do because the distributor refused to provide the replacement unit. This has been the worse experience that i have had with any company. I dealt with them for over 4 weeks just to get my air conditioner fixed. I ended going with someone else. I will not deal with Starn Air ever again!

No help from this people. Had a leak since first summer and was told it might be a bad indoor coil. Starn claims that York units have defective coils (blue fin type) . They were not able to find a leak on my unit. They were not able to find a leak on my neighbors unit either, but his was also empty on R-22. The tech opened a valve on the coil (on purpose, not knowing I was watching) and claimed he found a leak. Coil needs replaced he said, $725 and no warranty on new coil. How dishonest can these people be. If unit is out of labor warranty....fine. But help me solve my issue. You guys are the experts. Don't tell me, I'm on my own....don't tell me you don't care. Don't install another defective coil with no warranty. Don't lie about a leak if you can't find one, now I can't trust you. Bloomfield Homes..... Find somebody else to install your HVAC....lowest bidder is not always a good thing.

Poor service worse attitude

Ken (which is the owner of the company) repeatedly yelled and hung up on me. My a/c units both less than 2 years old have gone out completely leaving us with out air and staying at a hotel for 3 WEEKS! Never an apology only rude service. WORST.a/c company in dallas

I honestly would LOVE to give ...

I honestly would LOVE to give Starn Air ZERO stars but I have to give them at least 1. We only used Starn b/c they put in the A/C system, it's only 3 years only and the parts are still under warranty.

We call on Friday and we were told they could come out that day, they did NOT give us a window. By 3PM they had still not come out, my husband called and was told they wouldn't be able to make it but they could on Saturday and they would call us. We did NOT receive a call on Saturday. My husband called the following Monday to see why we didn't not receive a call the guy that answered the phone was very RUDE and told my husband the tech called 6 times, my husbands phone never rang, We also found out that we would have been charged an emergency call fee even though we were told they would be there on Friday and they/the Tech had poor time management. When he asked for times the guys hung up on my husband. (I work in a call center and if I hang up on a customer I'm fired, my that guy should be fired, no matter what his title is KEN) We had to call back as reschedule them to come out, the next available was on Friday. We had to BEG for a timeframe and only got 'in the morning'. We shall see if this happens but we will NOT be using Starn Air for ANYTHING in the future. This is the WORST company I've ever had to deal with.
