Saucon Valley Middle School, located in Hellertown, Pa., provides academic education to students in grades six through eight. The school enrolls more than 550 students and is a part of the Saucon Valley School District. The school s curriculum includes English, language arts, mathematics, United States history, science, social studies, and family and consumer science. It also offers courses in arts, computer-aided designing, journalism, and foreign languages with a choice in French and Spanish. The middle school additionally offers courses in health that includes topics on human development, pregnancy, AIDS, and drug and alcohol awareness. Saucon Valley Middle School organizes various extracurricular activities, such as dance, drama, jazz band, chorus, theater, aerobics and field trips. It also provides various sports activities, such as football, basketball, field hockey, baseball and wrestling. The school emphasizes on vocabulary building, reading and creative writing skills.
