My Plumber

An absolute attempt at price gouging. They provided an $1132.00 estimate to re-install a single handle faucet, re-install a garbage disposal and re-pipe a grand total of 24" of waste piping underneath the sink. When questioned about their prices, the dispatcher told me it was so high because of the quality of their work. Being the first out of 3 generations not to be a plumbing contractor, that remark was borderline insulting and I can't imagine how many homeowners have been taken advantage of in the same fashion.



I called another local company and they came and did the same work in 1 1/2 hours for $286.00. The faucet doesn't leak, the waste piping was evenly installed, even secured the dishwasher discharge hose to the cabinet to keep it out of the way of the pull out faucet line underneath the sink. All and all, it couldn't have been done any nicer, nor at any higher level of quality. Not only will I never call My Plumber again, I will never refer them to anyone that needs plumbing work done.

I really want to like My Plumber, but I doubt I'll ever call again. I had 3 simple things that needed to be fixed - a very slightly running toilet, removal of a 1970 shower head, and a plastic cracked pipe. They quote prices up front and all combined it was going to cost over $1000. I was expecting more like $200! I needed the shower head fixed asap and I agreed to the price quoted up front (over $200), thinking it would take him a half hour or so. Within 5 minutes he came downstairs to let me know he was done. The arm screws out of the wall. My husband was afraid it was on so tight that it would break the pipe when he unscrewed it. Obviously the pipe didn't break and they got a heck of a lot of money for 5 minutes of work. The tech was somewhat sarcastic and rude. When I told him someone else would replace the toilet he said, "Just make sure they know what they are doing." Seriously my contractor will replace all 3 toilets for the price My Plumber quoted me for 1.

I'm friends with one of the sales people and he is super sweet. Wish I loved my experience, but I just didn't. I will probably have a handyman do these little things from now on.
