Founded in 1916, Sachem Public Library is located in Holbrook, N.Y. The library supports a collection of over 250,000 books and more than 475 periodical subscriptions. It houses more than 24,000 multimedia items that include CDs, DVDs and videotapes. It operates a range of departments for children, adults and students. The library s departments organize a variety of events and special activities, such as story sessions, reading programs, and book reviews and discussions. Sachem Public Library also conducts guidance and career counseling sessions. Its 57,000-square-foot facility includes a media room and computer and technology center. In addition, the library has a meeting room for nonprofit educational, civic, cultural and government groups.
