J. Taylor Finley Middle School is a public coeducational school offering education and enrichment services to students in grades six through eight. It offers education in arts, science, math, social studies and English. It additionally provides courses in performing arts, business, and physical, health and career education. Its fine art department provides skills-based instruction and courses in contour drawing, value, light shading, color theory, perspectives, 2-D and 3-D designing. The science curriculum includes various topics, such as motion, the changing Earth, cells and microbes, continuity of life, the nature of matter, and oceanography and biological and physical science. The foreign language courses offered by the school include Spanish, Italian, French and Latin. The school additionally offers transportation, food services, and various athletic and activity programs. It also offers a media center with books, Internet access and electronic resources. The school is a part of the Huntington Union Free School District and is located in Huntington, N.Y.
