Jackson Academy is an independent, nonsectarian school founded in 1959. It is coeducational, private, day school with more than 1,500 students enrolled in preschool through grade 12. It offers a college preparatory academic program with extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities. Its preschool offers classes in reading, writing, music and art. Its elementary school offers classes from one through grade six and has computer labs. Its secondary school from grades seven through 12 offers classes in English, life science, algebra, geography and history. Its arts department offers classes in choral music, creative writing, drama, dance and forensics. The academy s sports program include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis and track. Jackson Academy is located in Jackson, Miss.
