Overall

Dr. Higson has a most calming, caring, relaxing and professional attitude. I have utilized his services for cleanings, fillings, extractions and partial dentures. Pain free services seem to be his specialty. His staff is friendly, very professional, courteous, and the facilities are exceptionally clean.

For the dentures Dr. Higson explained the options available, helped me make a decision, & then explained what he was doing during the procedures. He is always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate your wishes.

I highly recommend Dr. Higson to friends and family. I don't often submit reviews and rarely are they highly rated. This is an exception. I have and will continue to recommend him to family and friends. I have been in the Killeen/Ft Hood area since 1971 and have never been treated by a better Dentist.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Filling material are commonly one of two types of material: amalgam (silver) fillings and composite resin (white) fillings. Resin fillings are preferred for patients looking to maintain the aesthetic appearance of their smile as we can match any shade of tooth. Silver fillings are considered more cost effective and can easily be placed in posterior teeth.
Veneers
If you are looking to change your smile because of multiple dental flaws, or if you are looking for a more permanent restoration to cover large fillings on your front teeth, Dr. Higson or Dr. Snyder may suggest porcelain veneers. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth to perfect the shape, size, alignment, and color of a damaged tooth; veneers are ideal for our patients looking to make more dramatic changes to their smiles.

Bridges
If you are missing one or more teeth, Dr. Higson or Dr. Snyder may recommend you consider dental bridges. A dental bridge is a permanent dental restoration that uses the strength of your remaining teeth and is ideal for replacing a single tooth or multiple teeth that are missing in a row. Our bridges are made using the same technology that we utilize to fabricate our crowns. A traditional bridge uses two dental crowns to anchor a false tooth, known as a pontic, in place. The dental crowns are placed on the teeth on each side of the gap.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a treatment that focuses on repairing and removing decay to the inner portion of your tooth, which holds your tooth nerves. When the nerve is exposed to decay, it can easily become infected, causing severe pain, the eventual death of the tooth, and possibly a dental abscess. Root canals have a better prognosis and the tooth has a better outcome the sooner an infected tooth is treated.

Deep Cleaning

Dr. Snyder, originally from San Angelo, completed her undergraduate degree at UT Austin. Dr. Higson, originally from Olympia, Washington, completed his undergraduate degree at St. Martin’s College. They both attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where they met. They went on to complete a one-year General Practice Residency at University Hospital in Louisville where they received advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, occlusion, multidisciplinary treatment planning, and implant dentistry.
