        Established in 1840, the Kokomo Police Department provides protection and security services to the local residents and employs men and women who serve as commissioned officers. The department is responsible for the enforcement of law and order in the city. It receives assistance from all other public safety agencies. The department provides uniform patrol, criminal and special investigations, training, accident investigations, planning and research and crime prevention services.
