My daughter came here because her car RPM's were revving up but speed was going down. After and oil change because the change oil light was on, and they hooked the car up to diagnostic machine. Transmission code came up. They told her to call back in an hour. Their transmission guy Beyond should be in by then. She does and he is so the say come back in. Long story short he test drives it and says nothing is wrong with the car. That everything is fine. She drive back home less then 3miles away and almost didn't make it.
We took the car to Vega's Auto off 10th and L. The car needs and new transmission.

Kelly's Auto Repair has no business being in business....... My mom and sisters come here, at least they did. They probably won't oncre they found out about this.

I had to give them a star just to write this but i did not want to because they dont deserve it or need it. I would never recommended kellys to anyone even if they was the last shop around. I was dealing with them for more then a year and they did me wrong and dirty. They replaced a pulley and put the belt back on there and the belt was missin a chunk. In 2014 I asked for them to look at my whole car and they didn't. I found out at the beginning of this year i had two bad engine mounts. I had a transmission line fixed and they did not check my fluid after Fixing the line. So they have been lieing this whole time. When my transmission went out i took it back to them to check it and they wanted 1600 to rebuild it. I didnt find out about the belt, the engine mounts and the fluid not been put back until i had another mechanic look at my car. So when i was taking my car to them this whole time they was lieing cheating and been dishonest. DO NOT LET THEM WORK ON YOUR CAR.

I came in to get a diagnosis, as my check engine light was on. I needed to get my car smogged to register it again and told them if there was anything they could do to help me pass smog I would appreciate it.



Their diagnosis for why the light was on was correct, however when I took my car to get smogged immediately afterward it turned out that they had detached my battery to reset the check engine light in hopes it would pass smog.



Unfortunately the smog test could detect that someone had done just that and I failed the smog because of it. To be fair my emissions were also too high so I would have failed the smog regardless but I would have hoped they would be savvy on whether that technique would work or not, especially when I went to the smog shop across the street that they recommended.



tl;dr They gave me a very affordable diagnosis($20) but their attempt to help me pass smog proved futile.

I went in for a simple oil change. BIG MISTAKE!!

While shopping at the business next door I noticed Kelly's Auto was not busy (I now know why) so I thought I could get a quick oil change.

4 hours later I am still waiting for them to fix my car for their screw-up. When replacing the Drain Plug, they striped the Plug.

OIL CHANGES are one of the first things you learn to do in auto repair and they screw it up, I sure wouldn't let them do anything else!!!
