Diamond Used & New Tires

I'm really not a fan of businesses that answer the phone with a lazy "Hulloh", so I had a bad feeling from the start. Anyway, I'd gotten a quote over the phone for 2 used tires, balanced & installed, for $35 each. So after work, I pulled up to the garage, and noticed one guy working on a tire and a few others standing around. I walked into the office and came upon an employee laying back on the couch with a cell phone to his ear (girlfriend?). He noticed me and said, "Oh, go around to the garage."



I got around to the garage, and the same guy was rolling a tire up to wheel to be mounted, and another guy was leaning against a wall. I walked up to him, and he pointed me to the ONE guy who was actually working. So I went up to that guy, who must have been expecting me. He showed me the stack of tires I had to choose from, and they weren't in that great of a condition. They were obviously spray painted to look black & shiny, but the treads were less than 50%. I asked him how much again, and he said two for $80. That was $10 more than the first.



Anyway, I was on my way out to my car to back it in when a previous customer pulled onto the lot, complaining that one of his wheels they'd just put back on was rubbing against the wheel well. That sealed the deal for me, so I just left and hoped I could make it to the next shop on my list. Even if I'd gotten the tires at Diamond, I'd be nervous wreck they'd blow at any minute.
