Overall

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation and ended up being talked into an engine flush, new back rotors, and brake pads for both front and back. I was taking a trip and believed it was necessary, so I agreed to the repairs.
After driving 100 miles of my trip, there was a grinding of my front brakes and a loud squealing, and I could not figure where it was coming from, so I took it back to be fixed.
I was then told my front rotors were bad and they needed to be replaced also. They did that, but the squealing didn’t stop until the back brakes were completely redone. Now my car is still making a grinding noise.

I don’t trust taking it back there, so now I have to find another place to take it for repairs. I feel since I am a woman, I was taken advantage of shamefully.

I don’t recommend going there for ANY work. I feel I was scammed big time!

Mr.Wally H. you are lying your ass off. Why don't you admit at least to your self that the whole thing was due to you being a cheap person. first you wanted to save money so you bought the parts online. Second you called asked for a price for a timing belt but when your wife dropped the car you wanted to add a water pump to the job so $40.00 was added to the cost. Later you wanted to add a timing belt tensioner to the job and again you did not want to pay the $75.00 and went crazy because you could not take advantage of our business. So you go online write a bad review about our business. anyone that read your review can conclude that you are whining about the money not the job quality. For the readers information this whiner is talking about $415.00 labor charge for a timing belt, a water pump and a belt tensioner on a 07 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV with a 6 cylinder engine . A dealer charges twice that amount so would most shops. Shame on you Wally!

BEWARE LAYER & THEIF. I got a labor estimate over the phone of $300.00 to replace a timing belt, after the wife dropped the car he called me to confirm that is $340.00, I said it was 300 but I am not going to argue about+ $40, just do a good job. My wife picked up the car @ 2:30 PM and drove it for 3 miles, it died in the middle of the street. After we called him, he offered to tow it back to see the problem. It was 7:30 PM and the Car still in Redford Twp. I had to get my own towing. The next day he called me and told me it was the tensioner, that he should of have inspected, adjusted or reset when installing the new belt, the belt was tight (not stretched yet). He would not buy and install it. Of course I had to buy it, when I went to pick up the car he insists on charging me for the labor ($75) for fixing it. We dropped the car on Tuesday AM & picked it up on Saturday PM. This guy will do anything for the $$$, he will always find a reason to make sure you pay for his mistakes.

If you don't know fair repair ...

If you don't know fair repair prices or how much parts cost, stay away from this place. They will take advantage of you if you don't know what you're doing. I took my car in for some repairs and paid $1000 to do a job that most mechanics would charge about $600 for but didn't know until it was too late. On top of overcharging me, they did a half-a** job and broke other parts as well! They also fixed my control arm and did not perform an alignment. A couple days after I got my car back it was wobbling and making terrible grinding noises, and when I brought it to another mechanic he showed me that my front passenger side wheel was loose enough to move around quite a bit WITH YOUR HANDS! The wheel was not like this before I took it to Lube-N-Go. If you want a great job done at a fair price take your car to Sonny's Auto Repair at Ann Arbor Trail and Middlebelt. He fixed everything this place broke as well as the things they overlooked, and waived the labor fee for two of the things he fixed. He told me he did this because he hates to see a young girl taken advantage of and he didn't want me driving a dangerous car. I will never bring my business to Lube-N-Go again, and will be spreading the word.
