Fillings
Although studies indicate that there are no measurable health risks to patients who have silver fillings, we do know that mercury is a toxic material when we are exposed at high, unsafe levels. For instance, we have been warned to limit the consumption of certain types of fish that carry high levels of mercury in them. However, with respect to amalgam fillings, the ADA maintains that when the mercury combines with the other components of the filling, it becomes an inactive substance that is safe.
Resin Composite
Inlays/Onlays - These restorations are custom made fillings. They can be made of composite resin, porcelain or gold and are made by a dental laboratory and placed by a dentist. Inlays/onlays are usually best for the posterior chewing surfaces of teeth and are utilized to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective/unattractive fillings or have been damaged by decay or trauma.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are very thin shells of tooth-shaped porcelain that are individually crafted to cover the fronts of teeth. They are very durable and will not stain, making them a very popular solution for those seeking to restore or enhance the beauty of their smile.
Crowns
While in CT visiting family a crown fell off. Dr. Levy is my son's dentist and she agreed to meet us at her office after hours. She put the crown back on and got me out of pain. She did such a nice job I was able to finish out my trip without further complications.
Bridges
Fixed bridges - This type of bridge is generally made of porcelain or composite material and is anchored (cemented) permanently to a natural teeth adjacent to the missing tooth site. The benefit of this type of bridge is that it is fixed (not removable) and it is very sturdy. The disadvantage is that in order to create a fixed appliance, two healthy, natural teeth will have to be crowned (capped) to hold the bridge in place.

Root Canal Treatment
"For many years I have searched for a dentist that I can feel comfortable with and trust to have my interests guide their business. I wanted to be a customer and not just another piece of the profit and I have finally found that with the Family Smile Center, LLC. I went to chains (not to be named here) for most of the past 10 years after leaving my hometown and my hometown dentist and always felt pushed and prodded like cattle. I was erroneously told I needed a root canal and that a cavity was a "chip" they couldn't fix. After swearing off dentists for the last three years, my partner convinced me to go see Dr. Levy and her crew and to my surprise the experience was what it should have been. The staff is outstanding, professional yet inviting and Dr. Levy is great. You can tell the office is a place everyone enjoys to be, both patients and staff, and what a breath of fresh air in comparison to most places today. The most important thing: They not only know your name, they remember who you actually are. Thanks to all at the Family Smile Center for making me believe that small businesses still exist and we can go where everyone knows our name!!

Dentures
– Brush at least twice a day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste and toothbrush. Floss daily to remove food debris and plaque from in between the teeth and under the gumline. Brush or use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue and reach the back areas. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months. If you wear dentures or removable bridges, clean them thoroughly and place them back in your mouth in the morning.

Implants - Are a great way to replace one or more missing teeth. They may also be great to support ill fitting dentures. A dental implant is an artificial root that is surgically placed into the jaw bone to replace a missing tooth.
