Matawan Animal Hospital

Dr. Barry Kopp and his veterinary practice was recommended to me by several friends when I was looking for a local vet for 2 kittens I adopted from the MSPCA back in August 2013. We visited Matawan Animal Hospital in September 2013 for the first time and were very pleased! The staff and Dr. Barry are nice, caring, professional, knowledgeable and reasonable with their charges, unlike many other places who care more about your money than your pet. We've been back and we will continue to use this practice for many years to come! Great people, great place and great service. They also recommended Donna Dolittle's Pet Sitting Service and she is amazing as well! I'm so happy we found Matawan Animal Hospital and Dr. Barry!

Dr Kopp was recommended to us by our neighbors and finding him is the best thing we've ever done for our lab, Honey. She's a part of our family, not just a dog, and has had some issues over the years including a difficult experience of moving from the UK to NJ. He is exceptional in communicating with Honey and also with us. I have never experienced an animal doctor so in tune with animals. He has only their best interests at heart and is nothing but absolutely and completely highly recommended!

My dog was a patient of Dr. Barry for years. He developed a problem with his skin to which Dr. Barry could not treat and I was referred to a specialist in Tinton Falls. My dog was under the care of the hospital in Tinton Falls for the last 18 months. His condition was resolved and I wanted to return to Dr Barry since Tinton Falls is far and Dr Barry is 5 mins away. I spoke to Lindsay this morning and she was rude, as usual. She told me that she would have to speak to the Doctor to see if he had time in his schedule to fit us in and she would call me back. I would like to mention that I told Lindsay that I have open availability. I thought that was a weird answer and I waited all day and never received a return call, either way. It's very weird and I do not feel Dr Barry has anything to do with it. Lindsay can get very nasty and this is not the first time I have had issue with her. I think Dr Barry is a good compassionate vet, but I refuse deal with Lindsay and her bizarre attitude anymore. There are several other animal hospitals in the area that we can go to.

I cannot recommend Dr. Kopp or his staff highly enough. Not only is their care for the animals exemplary, they obviously care for the pet owners as well. Sadly, we had to put down one of our cats last year, due to cancer. Dr. Kopp was so supportive and Lindsay was so sweet and helpful, that it made an extremely difficult process more palatable. And unlike so many of the bigger Vet hospitals, they are more interested in your pet than your ATM card.
